I head straight into the castle, running as fast as I can until someone stops me in my tracks.

"And where do you think you're going?" Thranduil asks me ever so icily. I sigh, rolling my eyes. I understand that he is my love's father. However, I don't understand how he can treat me as if I were an orc!

"And that is your concern how?" I slightly growled. I'm trying to compose my annoyance in the best way I can. He just laughed hysterically.

"This is my castle, Miss Oakwood. I believe you know that better than anyone else. Am I wrong?" He calmly answers, each word burning my ears as he slowly approaches me.
"Now, Miss Oakwood. I am going to ask you again. Where do you think you're going?" He hissed at me. I cannot tell him where I am really going. He would not like it because I am like a daughter to him.

"I am going to the armory so I can hunt off more of those spiders, hîr vuin. We need to rid those creatures of our land right?" I lied. I have always hated lying. It doesn't run in my blood.

"Hunt spiders... or do you mean you will go sneak off to join my son in the war of the ring? You do know that both he an I do not approve of that." Thranduil says, coldly. He knows. I have to find out how to get out of this.

"No, my lord. I am just wanting to kill some spiders. I want to train more." I say, nervously.

"Alright, Dalia. I take your word for it. But, please, be careful." He says, walking back to his throne.
I made sure no one saw me before quietly slipping into the armory room and closing the door behind me. I grab everything that would be useful. Bows, arrows, swords, knives, speared and pikes. Then, I change into golden armor and a helmet. I was on my way.
As I was sneaking out to leave, I hid behind a wall as I listened to a conversation between Thranduil and my father.

"I terribly hate to admit it but she's good at what she does, you know." Thranduil begins. "The whole fighting thing, of course. I'm just saying it would be such a shame if she did go to battle and die a most painful death. It would be too much for my son, general."

"I understand, my lord. But she surely means well." My father tries to reason.

"You better keep an eye on her. Something tells me trouble will dawn on her." Thranduil replies.

"I know my daughter, hîr vuin. She isn't somebody to sneak off. She never lies. It isn't necessary to keep an eye on her!" My ada says, defending me. I feel like I am betraying him. I feel so guilty. But I must get out of here. As I listen to their conversation, I quietly try to get out of the Mirkwood castle.

"It is very necessary to ke-" Thranduil stopped talking. Obviously feeling my presence, so I froze. I stood up against a wall, not daring to make a sound. "Who is lurking? Show yourself. You do not need to hide." Thranduil states. I couldn't move. I didn't want my plans to be destroyed.

"My lord. You might have just thought that someone is here. I don't think anyone is here but us." My father states, confused. I peeked my head around the corner to see Thranduil walk away with my father.

I hurry out the door and through the kingdom until I spot Legolas chatting with a fellow Mirkwood soldier nearby. I could tell he was getting ready to leave.

"Yeah, well I better get going. There's no need to keep them waiting!" He said cheerfully.

"Well then! It was nice talking to you! Good luck!" The soldier replied warmly. They exchanged goodbyes and the soldier walks away. Legolas takes a couple of steps forward but then stops to look around, sensing someone's presence. I quickly and quietly hide behind a nearby barrel. Closing my eyes. Darn! I guess this crazy sixth sense runs in the family! I peak around to see him look in another direction.
