The Mines of Moria

We have been traveling for a couple of days. Now, we are in the Misty Mountains. My mother was right, it was already so long. It's a good thing I have a lot of durability towards the weather and long walks. I don't get tired that easily. Although, the hobbits seemed like they were about to pass out every time they thought we were going to stop. I found it rather funny but felt bad for them at the same time. As we finally came to a stop, they were so relieved. The hobbit called Sam was cooking up some delicious foods for the rest of us as the hobbits all stuffed their faces. I couldn't believe someone could be so hungry! It's a good thing I can go awhile without any hunger as well. While the rest of us were relaxing, the man Boromir was teaching the two hobbits called Merry and Pippin how to sword fight.

"Two, one, five. Good! Very good!" He congratulated them as I sat atop a rock watching. The hobbit that had volunteered to be the ring bearer called Frodo was sitting next to me.

"Move your feet" The ranger - and my love's best friend - Aragorn said, giving them some advice. Of course, I'm not down there helping him teach because I'm too embarrassed. Although, I don't think Legolas feels the same. He's actually encouraging me to.

"Come on" He begs as he kneels down next to me. "You're the best sword fighter I know. Better than me, perhaps" I nearly choked on my food.

"Oh no, I wouldn't say I'm that great Leg" I answer him, almost laughing.

"Dalia, you can do things with a sword that not very many of our kind can do. It's the most incredible sight I have ever seen" Legolas tries to encourage me once more.

"You don't mean that!" I giggled at Legolas. "Of course I do, my love!" He replied, hugging me, making me giggle. Legolas and I overheard a conversation between Gandalf and the dwarf, named Gimli.  "If anyone was to ask for my opinion, which I note they're not, I'd say we were taking the long way 'round. Gandalf, we could pass through the Mines of Moria. My cousin Balin would give us a royal welcome." Gimli said.  I looked at Legolas skeptically.  "No, I would not take the road through Moria unless I had no other choice." Gandalf replies.

Legolas stood up and ran onto a boulder, looking at something.  I walked over to him, touching his shoulder.  "Hey. What's wrong?" I ask, concerned.  "I do not know. I think I see something in the distance." He says, still staring.  I looked where he was looking.  It looked as if it was a black cloud.  "Crebain from Dunland!" Legolas shouted. My eyes went wide.

"Hide! Hurry! Take cover!" Aragorn yells.  Everyone scurries to find a hiding place.  Legolas grabs my arm to follow him.  We hide behind a boulder where a bush I next to it.  I am scared.  I feel Legolas's hand rubbing my arm to comfort me.  A ton of "Crebain" flew over.  Then, a few seconds after they got here, they were off.  Everyone got out from hiding.  "Spies of Saruman. The passage south is being watched. We must take the Pass of Caradhras."  Gandalf states, everyone looking at the mountain.

As we were passing through Caradhras, I was happily chatting with the hobbits as they were asking me curious questions about elves. Mainly Merry and Pippin. Legolas just giggled along with me every time they asked and I answered warmly.

"Wow, it must be quite fun then" Pippin said excitedly. I tilt my head, thinking.

"Um...sometimes" I reply with a shrug. Legolas agrees with me. Suddenly, Frodo falls and rolls down the hill behind us. We all pause as Aragorn runs over to him.

"Frodo!" Aragorn yells, obviously worried as he tries to help him up. I felt so sorry for him. As he is pulled up to his feet, he frantically looks under his shirt. He must be looking for The Ring. Boromir then retrieves it from the snow. It's hanging around a silver chain. He stares at it with pure intrigue. "Boromir" Aragorn tries to catch his attention.
