I was in the middle of an empty room. Everywhere I'd look at, just black. The floor is black, the walls are black, the ceiling is black... And there is no door. Just an endless darkness. How did I get here?

"It's been a while, Kayla."

No, not him.

"I have to admit, since my mom bailed me out of prison, I am much better."

He walks slowly to me, taking his time with every step. I start walking backwards, looking straight at him with full rage.

"You deserve to rot in jail!" I yelled, and he stopped walking. But I didn't.

"Don't you think that's a little bit too harsh, baby?" suddenly, he's a few feet away from me. I jump scared, fastening my steps.

"Don't call me that! You lost that privilege when you tried to kill me!" an angry tear falls on my cheek, and I wipe it off rapidly.

"But, I didn't."

When I realize he's only a foot away from me, I start running. I have to leave this place. Whatever this is.

Suddenly, he pops right in front of me. I fall on the ground, looking up at him. I was a little scared, I gotta admit.

He starts laughing sarcastically, looking at me like I was a bug. He bends down, and I try get away from him. He grabs my leg, stopping me.

"You can't run away from your problems, Kayla. It's not healthy."

He shook his head in disapproval. I gulp, watching him reaching his hand, grabbing mine and helping me get back on my feet. I push him away, but his arms grab my waist, stopping my movements.

"Leave me alone!" I start hitting his chest, but he doesn't move. He's like a rock.

"I don't want to do that, pumpkin." he smashes his lips on mine, but I push him away, slapping his cheek. He just laughs. I gulp, terrified.

"Don't you ever call me pumpkin again!" I yelled, but he ignored me. Instead, he grabs my ass, squeezing it. I gasp, slapping him twice, pushing him away again. I finally free myself from his grip, running away.

But, again, in vain. He was laying on the floor. I stumbled on his body and fell on the ground on my stomach. I scratch both my arms and knees.

"See? Running away from your problems makes it even more hurtful."

"Just live me alone!"

At this point, I started sobbing. I don't know why. I grabbed my legs, crawling like a ball on the empty black floor. I let the void slowly take me fully in. I couldn't do anything anymore.

He was right. I can't run away from my problems anymore.

But I don't know how to do it. I have no freaking idea.

I am full of being scared of Jason all the time. Especially since he got out of jail. I am full of letting everyone else fight my battles, but not me.

"Kayla?! Kay, Kay, wake up!"

I heard a voice throughout the void. I stop crying for a second, lifting my head. I look around me, searching for the source of the voice.

"Pumpkin, please, wake up!"

I feel a hand shaking my shoulders, but there was nobody beside me here. I feel a little pinch on my arm.

Then, my eyes open widely and I jump from the bed. I sit straight-up on the mattress, wrapping my arms around my legs, balancing.
