Chapter Two

Year Five:
I walked through the Platform, hoping to spot red hair that belongs to Lily Evans. Suddenly I was tackled from behind making me land with a oof.

"Oww Marls that hurt" I stand up and look to my blonde haired friend grinning. I help her stand and we hug.

"Oh Merlins beard you look gorgeous!" Marlene looked me up and down causing me to blush. I really did change. I grew like two inches, my dirty blonde hair goes to my waist now and I managed to develop.

"How was your summer? Common we have to find Lils and Ali!" I pull her and walk onto the Scarlett train, making me grin like a mad man.

Finally we find the girls near a common compartment to the back. "Hey girls! How was your summers?" I walk I first smiling softly.

"Merlin's beard Makayla! You look hot" Lily explained making me giggle and sit down. "My summer was good, how was your mom this year?" Lily asks softly.

I wince, "if anything, worse then last year!" My mother is an abusive drunk, nothing I can do about it except to cover it up with long sleeves. It's also gotten worse because her friends come over, they are all guys and like to have...fun, "Anywho, enough about my drunk abusive mothe-" I was cut off by the compartment opening.

"What's this I hear about an abusive mother?" Black comes in and I wince involuntarily. Every sense my little speech, I've been bullied twenty times worse then ever.

"Get our black. Potter" Lily snaps standing up and huffing.

"Oh come on, why are you hanging out with this worthless piece of trash?" Potter points to me with fake exasperation, making me roll my eyes. "Go out with me Evans?"

"GET OUT POTTER! I WOULD NEVER DATE AN ARROGANT TOE RAG!!" Lily fumes and Potter and his gang get out, Potter and black muttering about how worthless I am. "Ugh! I can't believe he had the audacity to be rude to you and ask me out!!"

"If they actually looked at her, then they wouldn't be very rude! I mean common Mak, your a total babe this year!" Marlene throws her hands up.

"Ouch! This year! You hurt me McKinnon, ya really did!" I put my hand over my heart and we burst out laughing.

The rest of the train ride went by smoothly and with no distractions, making me very glad. I saw he castle coming up in the distance making me grin like the Cheshire Cat.

I walk to the carriages and see the threstals. "Look, little freak is still seeing imaginary things" Potter sneers and I face palm.

"Threstal. They are called threstals, only seen by death. If your going to bully me, find an insult that doesn't make you look idiotic" I mutter the last part to myself but I know he hears it.

"Who?" Remus asks softly. He never does anything to bully me and I sorta consider him a friend.

"My dad. Second year summer. Can you see them?" I ask him, petting the winged creatures.

"Yea. My Grandmother in fourth year" he stands next to me and watches them.

"I'm sorry for your loss" I say shortly and walk into a carriage with no Marauders and grin like a mad man looking at Hogwarts.

We all made it to the great hall and I breath a sigh of relief. Home. We find out usual spot and talk amongst ourselves before the sorting started.

"So Ali, how's frank?" Frank is Alice's boyfriend and he shares a dorm with the Marauders. They have been dating sense first year.

"Oh he's good!!" Alice starts to gush over her boyfriend but I stopped paying attention. I look down the table and notice Black staring at me with a weird look. I flinch and involuntarily pull my sleeves down, hiding my scars.
