Chapter Ten

Star-Crystal sat on the window seat in her room, holding her cat, Fluffball in her lap, looking wistfully out of the window, as it was snowing too heavy to go outside.

"Nova I wish I was more like you" Star-Crystal said, "I would have joined you on the search for Durnaa".

Star-Crystal adored her older sister and wished she was more like her, she admired Nova's bravery and her spirit and fierceness, also she was so pretty!

Star-Crystal said, "I know you'll bring Durnaa back" she patted her cat, it was the ultimate fluffball, she was one of the same litter as Miff and Anda, but had been born a longhair, showing that it had long hair in it.

It was mainly white but had ginger in it and beautiful light blue eyes, Star-Crystal had claimed her right away as soon as she was born, her brother had another one of the longhaired litter mates whom he called Bat, and it was black and white, with green eyes, like all the cats on Crasolia Fluffball had wings, and was telepathic and empathic and intelligent.

Fluffball stretched a claw and yawned and then went back to sleep again digging a claw into her mistress who gently unhooked it.

"Bad cat" she said.

"Sorry" said the cat, going back to sleep.

There was a knock on the door "come in" she called, expecting it to be one of her sisters.

Firestone walked in, carrying two practice bows, he spied his twin and said, "say you want to go shoot some targets Sis?"

Star-Crystal smiled at her brother, he looked so much like her, he was the oldest out of the two of them by five minutes, and his black hair was in its usual, disarrayed mess, as like their older siblings, they had the same thick, unruly hair, only theirs was straight, instead of wavy.

Firestone stood slightly taller than his twin sister but was slightly broader built around the shoulders and chest, his dream was to be a knight one day and Daralez was trying to find him a knight to apprentice him to.

Star-Crystal said, "I wish we went with Ajeea and Nova".

Firestone said, "dad didn't want them to go! let alone us as well!" as like their older siblings they shared a love of adventure.

"I know, but it's so brave of them to do that!"

"Dad will make them make up for it though" Firestone said, "say do you want to go practice?"

"Where?"

"In the indoors practice area of course!" he said, he handed Star-Crystal her practice bow as both were learning to use a bow.

"Yes, I need to take my frustration and boredom out on something!" she said, "it's so boring without Nova around!"

Firestone chuckled "I take it you haven't taking a liking to Princess Starshine either?"

"Not really, I like Windancer though" she said "but Windancer had dance lessons so I was left alone".

"Krusa and Phoenix think they're just a pair of silly girls, but then they think Shadowsun is as well".

"They're not wrong!" Star-Crystal said "Shadowsun is silly!"

"Come on she's only ten!" Firestone said.

"I know, but I do hope she matures a bit as she gets older" Star-Crystal said, shifting Fluffball out of her lap, who meowed angrily and glared at her mistress, then holding her tail up high as well as her head, she stalked off.

Star-Crystal got up and brushed off her clothes as they were covered in cat fur, straightening her cape and straightened her braid as like Nova she had waist length hair, which she always braided like Nova and sometimes wrapped around her head.
