Chapter Three

          A few minutes later, Durnaa was up in their private study he shared with his brother and sister.

As the eldest children it gave them several privileges, which included a private study just for the three of them and their own private wing with their own rooms.

All of the other children save Firebird and Newstar all had their own rooms as well although they shared it with guests and fosterlings it was known as the Children's Wing, the triplets had their own wing which included their rooms, their own library, they all have their own private bathchambers, their own pool, own courtyard, own guestrooms, and some servants to help out and keep it tidy, they also had their own kitchen, their own cook, they had their own common room where they studied, did their lessons and so forth basically they had everything they needed.

Durnaa opened the door to the common room, Nova was playing the piano and Ajeea was looking through a book on court politics, he didn't look entirely thrilled.

Like all of the kids, the triplets had been given free rein to decorate in however they liked, and this room was no exception, it was decorated in bright airy colours, with pictures on the walls and some of their handcrafts.

Ajeea looked up and waved, Durnaa also noticed Sunlazer was also there, he was considered a special case and thus shared the wing with the triplets, and Sunlazer spent a lot of time with his older cousins.

Nova looked up from the piano and said, "these scales aren't coming right".

"Sound alright to me" Ajeea said 'you're really improving".

Nova said, "I guess".

Durnaa sat down, with a book of magical lore and said, "the doctor gave me leave to join you guys in lessons again".

"Good we missed you, it just isn't the same without you around" Nova said.

Ajeea nodded "I agree".

Durnaa nodded "yeah".

"No matter how far or wide we roam, we will always be three" Ajeea said "I don't think we could ever really lose each other".

Nova nodded "Yeah".

The bond between the triplets was deep and binding and could never be broken, they shared the same bond as twins, only there were three of them, they always knew when one of them was sick or in trouble, they often anticipated each other's sentences or thoughts and they always worked together as a team, their younger siblings apart from the twins, couldn't really understand it, although their parents did as both of them were of multiple birth themselves, Daralez was a twin and Verena was, that was Saradin Sunfire, Sunlazer's father, Sunlazer's mother Athena had been Daralez's sister, she had died in childbirth whilst giving birth to Sunlazer, as Athena was unusual for a Midnite she had always been fragile and delicate, and that's why Daralez and Verena worried for Durnaa, because he too was slightly more delicate than his siblings as Athena had been.

Durnaa seemed more prone to illness than his brothers and sisters, Durnaa was nowhere near as delicate as Athena had been but like his aunt he was very sensitive to things around him, picking up illnesses easier than his brothers and sisters, and when Durnaa got sick, he really got sick!
There had been a few days scare when he had first come down with Rowigers fever as early in his illness he had almost died, he also was prone to migraines, the doctor said that it wasn't uncommon for the youngest of a multiple birth to be slightly weaker than his siblings but still.

Durnaa was generally a healthy, active young man who loved adventuring with his brother and sister, and most of the time it didn't hamper him.

Starsinger said that was why he had the most aptitude for magic and Psionics and was quite powerful in it, once she had discovered this, she had taken Durnaa on as her apprentice and had told his parents that one day he would be a powerful mage/Psionicist and seeing he was the youngest triplet he could choose his own career in life, Durnaa, Starsinger had said would do his family proud one day and would find his own path.
