Chapter Fifteen

It was a couple of days later, up in Durnaa's chambers, Durnaa had been ordered to bed and told to stay there for a few days as when he had gotten back the doctor had reported that the young Prince was dangerously close to a relapse.

Ajeea and Nova were also told to take it easy as their energy levels had been dangerously low as had Talion's.

Sunlazer had also been told to rest because he had a fairly severe concussion and they had been afraid of brain damage, so they had all been given a meal and put to bed and all had been allowed to sleep as long as they liked.

Nova and Ajeea had been given a stern talking to about taking off like that without permission, but their father hadn't punished them about it as they had rescued Durnaa and he had been more worried about them than been angry.

After they had gotten back an all-out blizzard had broken out, confining them all indoors and even now two days later it was still raging.

Nova opened the door of Durnaa's room and walked in and found Durnaa was awake and eating a bowl of soup, two days of rest and quiet and good food and warmth had helped Durnaa somewhat, colour had come back to his face and the doctor said that he was coming back from a relapse although he was still a bit too thin, although his anemia was fixing itself as his body made up for the blood he had lost.

It had been revealed that Nova had, had quite a bit drained out of her as well' but she too was recovering.

Nova stood in the doorway looking at her brother, Durnaa was warmly wrapped up in winter pajamas and a dressing gown, a fire was going in his fireplace and his room was warm.

His hair had been done and he looked a lot like his old self again, he was reading a book as he ate and didn't appear to be aware of her, he probably hadn't heard her over the wind and the fire that was nothing unusual he was slightly deaf after all.

"Durnaa?" she asked.

Durnaa looked up "Nova!" he said with a smile "you look heaps better!"

"As do you" she said, walking in "didn't you hear me?"

"Over that wind and my fire! you're gotta be kidding!" Durnaa said with a chuckle "I'm a little deaf remember?"

Nova smiled, Durnaa was definitely back to his normal personality, cheerful and funloving, there had been times in the fortress she hadn't known him.

"How are you feeling?" Nova asked.

"Like I have a bad cold" Durnaa replied "although my lungs have cleared up somewhat but then I am still recovering from Rowigers Fever how's Seafoam and Sunlazer?"

"They're both still badly concussed and Sunlazer's still woozy both are still in bed" she said "Talion's up and about as are Ajeea and I, Dolphin and Neptonius are well".

"Was Sunlazer's skull cracked?" Durnaa asked.

She nodded "I think so, not badly though they're both been tended to though and both of them haven't suffered any lasting damage, although neither of them remembers what happened".

"Oh" Durnaa said 'what of Assis?"

"Well Dad's given him chambers in the palace and has introduced him to Star-Crystal they will start training her tomorrow",

"Does Star-Crystal like him?" Durnaa asked.

"She says been a Necromancer wasn't quite what she had in mind but she's not complaining, she doesn't seem to mind".

"He'll not only teach her Necromancy" Durnaa said "that's only his specialty but he knows other magic".

"Hmm" she said sitting down on the bed "are you Ok?"
