Surprise?!

*  *

HE WAS stuck in the white room. He had been for quite some time. He was lonely and he had nothing to do. So he thought, and formed a plan.

* * *

HIS GOLDEN brown loose curls hung loosely over his hair. They kept him in good condition, prime and pristine for their use. He was fed sufficiently and was made to keep in shape. There was a gym in the white room, it was small but efficient. He had lessons as every other person his age, 15, would have. He had some they would not. And when he came back from those lessons he would be tired. He would sleep and dream about a happy family far, far away. But of course, he knew it's all a dream.

* * *

TODAY WAS the day. February 28th 2017. He would escape from the white room, from the prison he was stuck in. He had learned to use his ability well, he was trained to use it. The light curled around his clenched fist. Over some time, and training, he could subdue the light. Make it just a flick of a finger and his ability would work, without the light. He was 16 now, on this day. The light expanded and he focused the energy on his surroundings but not letting loose. Then he made the door disappear.

* * *

HIS ABILITY immediately found 3 guards stationed near him. Not too near though, it was too make him feel alone. To make him feel as though there would be no consequences if he tried something. But he knew better and tried to focus on all of the guards weapons belt. He couldn't do it so he moved. He was quiet and light on his steps, no-one heard him until he rammed his elbow into one of the guard's necks. He grinned as he slipped past him and to the next. He rammed his fist onto a guard's head and he fell. Now it was just the last one. He hissed as the last one turned, gun in hand.

'Arms in the air!' The security guard demanded, pointing gun at him, but he could hear the fear in the guard's voice. The lights glowed around the tips of his fingers and he raised his arms above his head. And flicked his fingers. The gun disappeared and so did the guard's helmet. He swung low, his leg lashing out. The guard tripped while fumbling for a gun. He stamped a foot down on he guard's groin.

'Stay down,' He snarled quietly, his voice smooth and masculine. He grabbed the fallen guard's gun and swaggered to the next corridor. No-one was ready for the storm that was him.

* * *

HE STOOD, poised to attack should the door open. He was listening in to the director.

'How are my shadows?' Was the first thing he heard. He looked around, using his ability to feel if anyone was there. The bodies of unconscious guard's were all he could feel. Someone else's voice cut through.

'They're ready for him. They'll increase his use of his ability and heighten his physical strengths. It will also allow you to control him ful- The voice was cut off by the director.

'I know Sonya.' The director's voice was impatient. 'When can we begin?'

'Tomorrow,' Sonya replied.

He was getting impatient. He would need the director's card to get out. There were no windows and no-one could get in, or get out, without the permission of the director's. Some of the guards' had lived in the building. He opened the door quietly and it creaked slightly. He hoped that no-one had heard it. The director's and Sonya's back were still to him. He summoned his ability in case he had to. Sonya turned, a gun in her hand. He froze slightly as the director noticed. The director grinned.

Sonya flicked the holster and pressed a finger at the trigger, ready to shoot. He flicked a glowing finger and it disappeared into nothingness. No trace left behind. Some people leave small traces at first. Little clues. He stepped closer and punched her in the jaw. She fell.

'That gun was meant for me,' The director said slowly, his hand on the desk. 'Do it, kill me. Do it, Lucas.'

Lucas knew he was taunting him so he grinned. 'I just need your card.'

'You mean this?' The director said, taking out a card from his pocket. Lucas growled and made it disappear. He made it reappear into his hands. Another trick Lucas. Try to make make it come back. No, it won't happened if you leave it for too long. Only a few seconds.

'I'll be seeing you soon ,' Lucas said, his voice promising. He turned walking to the door.

Lucas didn't notice the director press a button. A gray smoky gas filled the room and darkness filled his vision.
