A Farewell Smile

"Ah, Dai-chan! Give me back my book!" yelled Aiko while chasing Daiki who's running with her book.

"No. Until you tell me who's your crush. I have told mine." he replied while waving Aiko's book in the air.

"Ah, fine! But, give me my book first." she try to make an agreements with Daiki.

"Promise that you'll tell me?" Daiki suddenly stop his run.

Seeing Daiki already stop from running, Aiko suddenly make a run and stole the book from his hand. She running happily because her plan success and she got her book back.

"Hey! That's cheating!" yelled Daiki while chasing Aiko. 

"No. It's called brilliant. Hahaha. Chase me if you can Dai-chan!" yelled Aiko again. 

"I will! Just wait Aiko."

After an hour playing chase and run, they decide to stop and rest under a big tree. The tree that has been a witness of the growing of Daiki and Aiko since they were little.

Daiki and Aiko are childhood friend because their house are next to each other. Although Aiko have other girl friends, but she likes to play with Daiki more. Everything they share together since they were little. 

"Ne, Aiko." said Daiki suddenly while looking to the sky.

"Mmm." she mumbles with her eyes close.

"Do you think people will forget us when we gone?" Daiki suddenly ask a weird question.

"What's with this guy? Is he too tired that make his brains  not functioning properly?" she think. "I don't know. Why are you suddenly asking that question?"

"Nah, just a sudden thought." Daiki sighed

Aiko just nodding. She wondered why Daiki, a cheerful boy and love by peoples, can suddenly thinking of that? This is the first he's asking a weird question like that and he's a little quite today. Not like usual. Seems like he's been of something. 

"Dai-chan." Aiko try to call Daiki who's still looking to the sky quietly.

"Mmm." he replied.

"Are you okay? You're not like your usual self. The talkative Daiki, which can't stop talking unless he's sleeping." Aiko get up and sit beside Daiki who's still lying on the ground.

He reply Aiko's question with a smile before getting up and sit beside Aiko.

"You know, I got a scary dream last night." he tell Aiko while playing with grass.

"What's the dream? Tell me."

"I was in dark room. Just me. I try to call everyone but nobody answer. Then, I walk around the room and saw a door. I opened it and there was another room which is really bright and it suddenly brought me to another room. There, I saw I was in a coffin. Everyone in the room was crying. Ma, Pa, Daddy, Mummy, Oba-chan, Aiko, Aoi, Daisuke, and others. Everyone was crying. Then, the view suddenly disappear. I walk to another room. It's written that it was one year after my death. Everyone is so happy. Living their life happily like nothing happen. No more crying. Even Ma and Pa can laugh with Daisuke happily. Like they forget about me. Aiko too. You're happy with your working life in Tokyo, having a boyfriend." he ended it with a sigh and lying back on the ground.

"I wonder if I'm really gone one day, will I'll be forgotten?" he asked.

Aiko don't know how to respond to Daiki's dream. It seems like he really think about the dream deeply.

"Ahh, it's just a dream Dai-chan. Don't give it a deep thought." Aiko reply. 

"Yeah, maybe I'm really into it that make like this. Gomen-ne Aiko." he said with a smile.

Both of them stay silent while looking to the sky.

"Ne, Dai-chan. Tomorrow is the day right?" Aiko suddenly ask the question. She doesn't want that situation for too long.

"What day?" he asked.

"Result day!" she said excitedly.

" Ah, yes! I'm totally forgot about that." he reply rubbing his hair.

"Hahaha. That's because you really think about the dream." Aiko try to tease him.

"Hahaha. Yeah. I can't wait for it." he reply. Smiling widely, that make Aiko's heart smile too.

"Me too." she said while smiling to the sky.

"I hope we get the same college." he said.

"You must get the better one. Genius boy like you, and I'm the not so genius will fall into other college." Aiko reply while playing with the grass.

"Baka. You're genius too right? Who's the number in class? Isn't this Aiko?" said Daiki while patting her head.

"Hahaha. Yet, I'm still one step behind you, Mr Daiki." she reply.

"Don't worry Aiko, let's wish that we got the same college. Then, I'll continue to bully you there. Hahaha." he said

"I don't think you dare to do it to this cute Aiko." she said while making a cute face.

"Which part is Aiko cute? I can't see it." reply Daiki while trying move his face around Aiko's face.

Aiko suddenly pinch Daiki's left arm that make him groaning pain.

"It's hurt, Aiko. Look, it's red already." he said while show the red part.

"Hahaha. Mama boy in pain. Serves you!" said Aiko. Then, she look at her watch. "Dai-chan, let's go home." Daiki nodded.

Both of them walk side by side while chatting. After 15 minutes, they reach in front of their house.

"Bye Dai-chan, see you tomorrow at school." Aiko waving to him.

"Bye. Yes. See you tomorrow." he reply

"Don't think about the dream." she yelled before walking into her house.

Daiki just smile before he walk into the house. He's trying not to think about the dream as Aiko said. Yes, it just a dream.
