A Farewell Smile

1 year later ~

Daiki waiting at a park that near to his university while playing his phone. Today he got no class, so he make a promise with Aiko to meet at the park before going out for dinner. Nowadays, they rarely meet each other due to different class schedule. 

Hey little penguin, where are you? - Daiki wrote a message before sending it to Aiko.

A few minutes later, he got a reply from Aiko.

Ah, gomen ne Dai-chan, I'll be late today. I have a sudden discussion with my senior today. Could you wait for me for another 20 minutes? I will be there as soon as possible. - she reply.

I'm gonna melt here. It's okay. Take your time. I'll be around taking a walk. Message me when you're done, okay? 😊 - Daiki touch the send button.

Daiki look around the park. He saw a few kids playing at the field which located in the middle of park. Near them, a few adult watching them playing, maybe their parent.

Daiki stand up from the bench and start to walk around the park while waiting for Aiko. The weather today is so nice. The sky is so bright, with white clouds. It just nice. Sometimes, he can hear a noise from the birds in the park. It's so relaxing for him. 

Daiki stop at an empty spot. He rest his butt on the ground and leaning his body to a trunk. As usual, he looking to the sky. Since he was little, he loves looking to the sky. Especially when he feels stress or something is troubling him. By looking to the sky, it's feels like all of the problems fly away into the sky.

Suddenly, a message come into his phone.

I'm done with my discussion, where are you? I'm on my way to the park. - Aiko wrote.

I'm still in the park. Wait for me at the gate, I'll be there. - he reply.

Daiki put the phone into his pocket before he stand up and leave to the gate. 

Upon he arrives at the gate, he see Aiko walking towards him while waving at him. Yosh, he make it on time.

"Sorry, Dai-chan! You need to wait for me." Aiko immediately apologized. Daiki smiled.

"As a punishment, you need to pay for me today." Daiki reply with a  fierce face.

"Alright, alright. Just today. So, where are we going today?" she ask.

"I don't know. How about you? Do you have any idea?" Daiki ask back.

"Hmm, how about we go to the new cafe that open in the town? I heard that his pancake is so nice." she reply.

"Since I don't have any idea today, let's go with that." he reply.

Both of them walk to the nearby bus stop and wait for the best. About 10 minutes later, the bus arrives and they ride the bus.

"Yosh, we arrived. The cafe is so nice." Aiko said as soon as they arrived in front of the cafe. Daiki smile when he looks at Aiko's face.

"Just like a little girl. Let's go in." he said. Aiko make a pout face when she heard that before following from behind entering the cafe.

Both of them take a seat beside mirror wall. A few minutes later, a waiter comes and takes their order. After finish with the order, the waiter excused himself and go the counter to pass the order. The service there is good too. They don't need to wait too long for their order.

"Their pancakes is so good." Aiko comments on her pancakes. She make a face of who is eating a delicious food.

"Hahaha, Aiko, there's cream on your face!" Daiki said while laughing.

"Eh, where?" she ask.

"Here." Daiki clean the cream from her cheek. "You're such a child." he add.

That situation make Aiko's heart beats a little fast as usual. She feels hot on her face. 

"Aiko, are you okay? Your face turn red." Daiki laugh a little when saw Aiko's face turn red as soon he done clean the cream.

"Eh, really? No, no. Maybe it is hot. Hahaha." she laugh awkwardly.

"Are you shy?" Daiki ask.

"Ah this boy, how can he know this. Damn Aiko. Why would you feel like this?" Aiko think.

Daiki chuckled when he see Aiko's face. They continuing eating while chatting about life and classes. 

"Eh, Suzuki-chan." suddenly a man approaching them.

"Eh, Takaki-senpai. What are you doing here?" Aiko shock seeing her senior at the cafe.

"I meet with with my friend earlier." he answer. 

Daiki look at him while they chatting. He admit that Takaki-senpai has a good look. Tall, handsome and nice smile. Girls will immediately fall in love.

Then, he look at Aiko. She looks shy when talking to Takaki-senpai. "Maybe this is Aiko's crush in college. Ah, his chance is getting thinner. Aiko already has a crush." he think.

"Ah, this is my childhood friend, Arioka Daiki. He's study in the same college as us." Aiko suddenly introduced himself.

"Ah. Arioka." he shaked hand with Takaki.

"Takaki." he smile.

"Ah, I gotta go first. See you tomorrow at college, Aiko." he said before leaving both of them.

"You like him right?" Daiki suddenly ask Aiko with that question before sipping his latte.

"Eh, what? No, no. How can I like him. He's so hot in our faculty. So, I won't take any dangerous step to like him. Hahaha." she laugh awkwardly. Again.

"Tell me how long I've know you, Aiko? You're surely like him. Right?" that answer make Aiko feels embarrassed.

"Ah, I'm always lose to you. Not fair." she reply before drinking her juice.

"So, since when did you like him?" Daiki ask.

"Just recently. Since, I'm always has meeting with seniors. So, I bumped into him a few times. He's so nice when talking to people. No wonder he got so many people crush on him." she answer. Daiki just smile.

"Good luck in winning his heart." he suddenly answer that.

"Eh, no, no. I just like him. But I don't him as my boyfriend." she quickly correct Daiki assumption.

"Hahaha. Are you sure? Then, who do you want as your boyfriend?" he ask.

"Secret." she answer before finishing her last bite of pancake.

"Ah, you always keeping that secret from me." he said.

"Because you can't keep the secret." she reply.

"Fine. I'll find the answer myself." he add.
