Raven Cruxho
After being excused I left for the forest. I walked slowly through the trees, thinking about what Rochata told me. As I continued on, I heard something that sounded like metal clashing on a rock. I drew my sword, and crept slowly in the direction of the sound. After a moment it stopped echoing through the forest, but I kept my sword drawn for safety. I paused in a tiny clearing, glancing around from tree to tree before I finally spotted another person. They were glaring down at me from their dark vantage point above. She jumped down from the tree, and I jumped back in response.
“Who are you?” I asked calmly.
“Ashika…I’m a vampire who trains here… Who are you?” she said in a hostile manner.
“I’m Raven… A witch who lives and fights in this region. I protect the town from… we’ll call it evil…” I replied nervously.
It took me a few moments to notice that within this small clearing we were circling each other. Then, she decided to draw her sword and point it straight at me. I studied her stance and her weapon for the brief moment I had before she lunged at me. I brought my blade up to meet hers in the blink of an eye; blue metal meeting red. I pushed up on the blade to fling her into the air. As she flew back up into the air, I dropped my sword and used my magic to push her up against the tree she jumped from. Of course, I did this with much intended force. She hit her head, hard against a tree branch and slumped down the side of the tree. I hadn’t noticed that the tree branch itself had snapped and it fell down on top of me, pinning my legs beneath it. I wailed out in pain, and Rochata was by my side in an instant.
“Raven what happened?!” he asked in pure shock.
“Look around, for crying out loud I’m pinned beneath a tree branch!” I shouted.
Rochata looked at me, sadness present in his face. He teleported the fallen branch off of my legs, and looked down at me with solemn eyes.
“Come on,” he said offering his hand, “I’ll take you home.”
Looking at Ashika, I decided that she needed help more than I did at this point. I didn’t know the damage I did to her, and as far as I knew she was a good person. Besides, in a family of telekinetic witches, there wasn’t much damage she could do.
“Get Ashika back first,” I said pointing toward her.
Rochata followed my finger to the girl lying at the base of the tree.
