Harry's POV
There she was. Ava. A broken glass bottle in her hand. 2 unconcious men on the floor. What the fuck.
She looked terrified, her whole body was pratically shaking. She looked up at me with a guilty expression, almost ashamed of what she had done. Before I could stop myself, I ran over and gave her a hug, relieved that she was still alive, as I was expecting the worst. She let out a quiet sob, whilst I embraced her, obviously shaken and distraught over what had just happened. We stayed like this for a few moments before I pulled away, checking her face and body for any injuries. She had a couple scratches on her face, and a nasty bruise already forming around her eye, but other than that she seemed in good condition.
However, me on the other hand, not so much. The pain in my neck was only increasing by the minute, and I hadn't realised how much blood I was losing until I looked down at my once white shirt to find it was completly crimson. Ava seemed to realise how bad this was too, as she gasped in horror, before demanding that we go to the hospital. I refused though. I hardly ever went the hospital, I just despised them and now they've had made the NHS private, there was no way I could afford the medical bills, especially when I have a lifestyle like this. Ava didn't seem happy about this, but after realising that she wasn't going to win, she quickly ushered me to the car, telling me she wanted to get back as soon as possible so we could put something over the wound.
Just as we were about to get in the car, Ava suddenly froze. She looked at the corner where we had just emerged from, then back at me for a moment. She told me to 'wait a second' and ran off into the distance. My eyes went wide, completly baffeled by her actions and I was seconds away from running after her, until she came back around the corner with a pizza box in her hand, and a sheepish smile on her face.
I couldn't help but laugh when I saw this. Moments ago we were seconds away from death, and all she could think about was pizza! This girl was truly one of a kind.
Despite tonights events and the throbbing pain in my neck, I had a smile on my face the whole journey back to the house, chuckling to myself every now and again at the image of her saving the pizza. By the time we got back to the house, the whole pizza was gone. Needless to say we truly deserved it.
I made sure I put the pizza box in the bin before entering the house, because I couldn't be dealing with the wrath of Niall in the morning. Believe me, you don't want to get in an argument with him about food. The house was silent when we arrived, indicating that everyone was asleep.
I made my way upstairs, Ava following close behind and walked into the one of the bathrooms along the hallway. She stood in the doorway as I rinsed my face, before looking in the mirror at my neck. It was a nasty cut, but luckly the bleeding had stopped now so it just needed cleaning up. Aware of Ava's presense, I asked if she wanted me to show her to her room but she slowly shook her head and walked inside the bathroom. She then grabbed the cloth I was about to use to wash my neck, and asked me to sit down. I obliged and sat on the edge of the counter, curious to see what she was doing. She rinsed the cloth under the tap before turning her attention to me, and gently began pressing the cloth onto the wound. I winced at first, which made Ava pull the cloth away, worried that she was hurting me. I told her to continue, trying to keep the wincing to a minimum for her sake.
I didn't really know how to react to this, as normally when I was hurt I just cleaned myself up and that was it, but I couldn't say that I didn't like this because that would be a lie. She was extremly focussed on cleaning this wound, her tounge sticking out a little, which displayed pure concentration. However as she continued, a flicker of sadness kept re-emerging on her face, and soon after a pool of tears started to form in her eyes. Concerened by her upset state, I jumped down from the counter and ducked down in front of her, so we were face to face. Tears started to stream down her cheek, which I brushed away in a lousy was to comfort her. I really didn't know what to do, I wasn't very good at dealing with girls and their emotions.
"Ava, what's wrong love" I asked, feeling slightly confused by her abrupt mood change. She took a deep breath before apologising for getting upset.
"There's no need to aplogise Ava, I just need to know you're okay" I replied, placing my hand on her shoulder and giving it a gentle squeeze. She gave me a sad smile, before nodding her head, reassuring me that she was fine, even though right now she clearly wasn't. She went to pick the cloth back up to continue but I quickly stopped her.
"I think we need to clean you up as well. You've got a few nasty scratches on your face there" I pointed out, which then caused her to look into the mirror earning a slight gasp from her. I got a new cloth out, and repeated her actions. She jumped onto the counter and shyly looked down at her feet. It was clear that she was embarrased about what had just happened, but I wanted to reassure her that there was no need to be. I lifted her chin up with my index finger, which caused her to look up into my eyes. Luckily the tears had gone, but her eyes were still glossy nethertheless. She mumbled another 'sorry', so I reached out for her hand and gave it a squeeze, hoping that would get the message across.
After cleaning up her scratches, she jumped from the counter and let out a big yawn. This day had been fucking exhausting, so we slowly made our way down the hall and into the bedrooms. We stopped outside the room that Evie was in, and I asked if she was going to be okay. She gave an unconvincing nod, and began to enter the room.
As I began to walk away, the sound of her voice caused me to stop.
"Goodnight Harry" She whispered, accompanied with a sheepish smile.
"Goodnight Ava" I replied, a smirk forming on my face.
