Katniss POV
Prim rings the doorbell. She is very excited to meet new people. I on the other hand, not so good.
My hands get all sweaty and my chest gets all clammy. What if they don't like me? Oh my god Katniss stop thinking like that. Thry are just your neighbours! And that boy...
I haven't stopped thinking about him all afternoon. What is he like? Was he looking at me? Does he go Panem High? So many questions.
I am pulled out of my thoughts when someone opens the door. A tall, middle aged man stands there. He has grey hair but has quiet I built up figure.
"Hi! You must be the Everdeens! Come in!" he says.
He shakes our hands and welcomes us in.
"You have a wonderful house, Mr Mellark" Plutarch says.
"Thank you but please call me Michael" he replies.
He was right. The house was beautiful. It had a black and white theme and was so spacious yet homely. It smelt like they had cooked a feast!
"Come and meet my family!" Michael called out to us and we followed him to the dining room.
Peeta POV
Dad welcomes them in and leads them to the dining room. First a man, must be the girls father, then a women, then a young girl. And finally her. The girl in the window
She is more beautiful up close.
Wait Peeta? What are you saying? you just met her!
She was dressed simple. Jeans, a V-neck top and a jacket.
Dad introduces us one by one. First Mum, then Jordan and Ryan, my older brothers and then me.
They introduce themselves too. Plutarch the dad, Renee the mother, Prim the young girl and Katniss.
Katniss. That's a cool name. it describes her perfectly.
We shook hands and made our way to the living room. Mum came and said hi but left shortly after to finish making the food.
"So Peeta, what do you do? Are you at school?" Plutarch asked.
"Yes, yes sir. I go to Panem High. It's my first senior year. I also help at the bakery." I reply.
"Ah yes, Panem High. Katniss will be joining there as a senior as well. You two should get to know each other"
Then my dad said, "Yeah good idea Plutarch. Peeta, why don't you take Katniss around the house? You know, get to know each other, tell her about Panem High?"
"Uh, yeah sure. Lets go Katniss" I said. What else was I meant to say? hey, at least I have a chance to talk to her.
