"Hey, Ash." I said as we were sitting in a booth in the guild hall. "You know, we never finished our battle from the league. How would you like a rematch? No forfeits this time."

"Really?" Ash replied. "Can we do that here?"

"Of course you can!" Lucy replied. "We even have an arena you can use. We use it for the Grand Magic Games we hold every year."

"Oh yeah!" Serena exclaimed. "You were talking about that before. All of the magic guilds compete against each other, right?"

"Yep! And it's happening again in a month! They're already planning the rounds for them."

"And we're gonna win again this year!" Natsu raised a hand and ignited it with a grin.

"That sounds awesome!" Ash replied. "Can we enter, too?"

"Sure, you can!" Lucy had her hands on her hips. "You're members, aren't you?"

"Hold on a second," I closed my eyes. "I have to lay down some rules to that."

"Huh?" Ash gave me a look in wonder.

"You'd be going up against the strongest wizards in Fiore in the games. I want to make sure all of you are safe because of that. So...only Ash can enter the games, but only if he wins against me in our battle. Sound good?"

I could tell the other trainers were a little hurt by this, but I didn't want to risk anything. Serena raised her head after a moment with a smile, though. "Yeah, I think that would be best. We're not the ones battling you, after all." Clemont adjusted his glasses and grunted in agreement.

"Yeah, that's fine," Ash said himself. "Like I said, I'd rather earn my share than just be given it." I nodded at that.

"So, when do we leave for the Capital, then?" Gray asked.

"Don't we have to get permission to use it first?" Wendy asked, sitting at her table with Carla in her lap.

"Oh, yeah," I answered with a chuckle. "I'll contact Hisui and let her know what we're doing. We'll leave tomorrow, so be ready." I looked at Ash, and glared at him in confidence. "And Ash...this time I'm giving it my all." Eevee cried softly with confidence herself, and Pikachu returned the glare with a spark running between them.

"Okay, here we are." Hisui lead us out into the biggest arena I've ever seen, with stands at every turn that could hold thousands of people. I had to spin an entire circle to see the whole thing.

"This is incredible!" I gaped. "Even the Pokémon League back in our world isn't this big!" I heard Lucy grunt at that phrase again, but I ignored it. I turned back to Hisui. "Thank you, Hisui."

"It's our pleasure," Hisui bowed. "Please enjoy it for as long as you'd like." She then turned back toward the exit and we said our goodbyes to her. The guild walked forward to the center of the arena.

I turned to them with a glare. "Okay, everyone! From this moment on it is strictly Pokémon League business between me and Ash. Which means no interfering or bad mouthing during the battle as you're all watching. Am I clear?"

"Yes, Ellie!" The guild answered.

"Good. To your seats then, please." The guild members scurried to where they would be sitting, and I noticed Lucy had her head lowered in sadness as she followed slower than everyone. "Hey, Lucy!" I called to her, and she looked at me in wonder. "I have a favor to ask you."

"What's up?"

"I would love it if you could be our referee for the battle. All you need to do is announce and point to us whenever someone wins. It's tradition for important battles like this. Here." I pulled out two flags from in my bag, on with a brown Fairy Tail emblem, and one with a light red one for both me and Ash. "Use these to help you with it."
