"My Eeveelutions along with Eevee are just a few of hundreds of different Pokémon. They all have their own types and abilities, and look much different according to those properties." I clicked on my Pokédex, and the magical rock called a lacrima presented the picture on the big canvas behind me. Every guild member widened their eyes in awe. "I'll start with the originals in the Kanto region. These are the first ones that were ever discovered."
I clicked a few buttons on my touchscreen, and Charmander appeared on the canvas. "This is Charmander, the fire type...Squirtle the water type, and Bulbasaur the grass and poison type." Each picture moved across the screen, and everyone was silent as I explained. "There are more starter Pokémon depending on what region you're in. I'm from the Kalos region."
Fennekin, Froakie, and Chespin appeared next. "As you can see, depending on what type they are, their appearance coordinates the same way."
Wendy then raised her hand high. "How many different types are there?"
"Good question. There are eighteen types that we know of now, the fairy type being the newest one." I listed off each type in accordance to how common it was to find. There was a chart to help me up on the screen. "And then, there's the dragon type." I said last.
Natsu suddenly stood up. "Dragon?!"
I blinked at him in wonder. "Yes...It's the rarest type of all. You can't find it as often as the others in Pokémon."
He just glared at me then. He grunted, then sat down again, keeping his face, he then grinned seriously. "I'd love to fight one of those."
I stared at him for another minute, then cleared my throat. "So, those are the types. Every Pokémon has at least one, but there are many that have two within them. Like, Azumarill, for instance, the water-fairy type, or Graveler, the rock-ground type.
"Now, let's move on to one of my favorite subjects, evolution!" I clapped, and Levy raised her hand next.
"What do you mean?"
"Well, let's start with the Eeveelutions. Did you know that every single one of them was an Eevee themselves once?"
"There's no way!" Lucy chimed in. "They all look way different!"
"That's where evolution comes in. Eevee is actually the evolution Pokémon, which means that it can evolve into these eight different evolutions, depending on the environment it's in when it does. Take Glaceon, for example. The only way Eevee evolved was for me to find the big Icy Rock within the snowy mountain. Once Eevee touched it, she evolved into Glaceon."
"That's so cool..." Wendy was in complete awe.
"Leafeon was the same thing with the Moss Rock in the forest. Flareon, Jolteon and Vaporeon on the other hand, they all needed a particular stone in order to become what they are. Flareon, a Fire Stone, Jolteon a Thunder Stone, and Vaporeon a Water Stone. These are items that I can carry with me." I pulled out the Water Stone I currently had, and let it shine into the audience. "You'll find these in different places throughout the region, or you can buy them at particular stores."
"It looks just like a tiny lacrima." Lucy commented.
"Actually, it kind of is. It's the only thing that can evolve Eevee into Vaporeon." It seemed that the crowd was getting more and more restless as I kept talking. I raised my hands. "Okay, settle down!" Everyone slowly relaxed. "There's two more ways that Pokemon can evolve. Espeon and Umbreon, they evolved with how much skill level I had. That is, how good I was at battling and how much they trusted me. Sylveon is kind of the same thing, but I gave her a lot more attention. Of course, I love her as much as the others." Sylveon stepped up next to me, and wrapped her head ribbons around my arm. I giggled and looked down. "But I get the feeling that she's too close to me sometimes." She smiled at me amusingly.
"But, the basic way that a Pokémon will evolve is from growth. They have levels that let them know how much they have grown in strength and power." I clicked a button on my Pokédex again, and Charmander appeared again on the screen. "Let's say Charmander grew to level sixteen. Evolution would take place, then." I clicked to the next picture. "It would evolve into Charmeleon, then at level thirty-six..." The next picture. "Into Charizard."
"I have a question!" Romeo raised his hand high.
"Yes, Romeo?" I clicked off the picture.
"Will every Pokémon evolve?"
"Well, not every one of them. Some don't have anymore evolutions, while others just don't want to evolve and keep themselves from doing it."
"Why would they do that? Wouldn't they want to get that much cooler and stronger?" Natsu asked with a confused look.
"Well, sometimes they don't have to. They still grow in level, but they just want to stay the way they are."
"I could understand how that can happen." Erza spoke up. "They don't want their friends to see them as any different, but at the same time they still get stronger."
"Precisely. That's what me and Eevee agreed on, for her to stay the way she was. I love her so much for that, just like everyone else." Eevee leaped onto my shoulder and started to rub my face with her soft cheek. I giggled in happiness.
I looked up, and everyone was looking at me funny. Natsu had his arms crossed in his seat with a grin, while Lucy gave me a look of envy. I started to fell self-conscious, and my cheeks got warm. I cleared my throat. "Thank you, Eevee. Let's move on."
"No," I turned my head to see Makarov step up to the stage below me. "I think we've seen enough."
"Master?" Erza asked.
I looked at him in wonder as he grinned with his head down. "I've made my decision." That's when Erza gave a humph of triumph. "Not only have you proven to me that you can use magic, but also that you know the meaning of family." He opened his eyes to smile at me. "And that...is what Fairy Tail is all about."
"Um..." I was confused. "I'm sorry?"
"We're not just a guild," Makarov continued. "We use magic to take care of the people we love. Everyone around you thinks of each other as family, as it should be. We never use it for greed or murderous actions, only for the people we care about. And that's why...I want to welcome you as a member of Fairy Tail!"
Everyone in the guild cheered and screamed. When it hit my ears, I took a step backwards. "Wait!" I called out. The guild immediately went quiet. "Am I even qualified to be a member?"
"What do you mean? Of course you are!" Natsu said.
"But I'm not the one who uses magic; my Pokémon do! That doesn't make me a mage at all, right?"
"That doesn't matter." Makarov countered. "Your Pokémon are the ones who do have magic, and since you are their master who loves them, that makes you even more of a Mage. The love you share between each other is evidence that you belong here. I don't know how exactly you came to Magnolia, but I believe it was for a very good reason." I just stared at him in wonder. "It was to join us!"
Everyone cheered again, and this time I looked around to see every single person sprint up to the stage to meet every single Pokémon there. They all were smiling at each other as they felt their soft fur, and all I could feel was happiness for what I was seeing. I'd never in my life experienced such kindness from anyone, and before I knew it, tears were rolling down my face. "Thank you," I sobbed. "Thank you so much."
Lucy came up to me and offered her hand. "Welcome to Fairy Tail," she said. "I know we're going to be best friends!"
"Yeah." I wiped my tears away. "And I hope that everyone will be my team's best friends, too."
"You bet!" Levy came up. "You and them are part of our guild now."
"And that means you're part of our family!" Natsu wrapped an arm around my shoulders.
More tears fell as he did this. "Thank you."
"Elena!" Mira called to me. "Let's give you your emblems! We have all different colors for every single Pokémon!"
