Just Another Death Threat

Three days passed and Selena's fever had only dropped one degree. She still hadnt woken up, and Leon still hadnt stopped fretting over her. Aileen had tried to visit, but had been sent away. Alice called twice a day for updates and conversation, but short of the temperature difference, Leon had nothing to say. He definitely wasnt telling anybody what had transpired on the couch he now slept terribly on.

Leon's dreams were plagued with her. Hurt, crying, being pleasured. He constantly woke up drenched in sweat for one reason or another and had to gulp down a glass of water. Too often his eyes would travel over to the  only bottle of Brandy he had picked up just a week ago. His fingers would tingle as he would pick up his crystal glass and then set it down again. He was staring at it now, sitting on the couch with the bottle directly in front of him on the coffee table.

Sighing, he gives in and pours an ounce in his glass, throwing it down his throat immeadiatly.  He closes his eyes against the familiar feeling of the alcohol gliding down his throat, and then tosses back another drink. In the midst of pouring a third drink, Leon's bedroom door opens. Leon sets down his glass and stands up as Selena takes a slow step into the short hallway.

"Uh, you're, um, you're awake," Leon says gruffly while averting his eyes. For some reason she had stripped herself naked, and was walking toward him, shivering but sweat still matted her bangs to her forehead.

"Leon..." her voice cracked and fell painfully. Bringing his eyes to meet her face without looking at her exposed body, he backed up against the couch seeing her eyes glowing amber. "Leon...whats... happening?"

She stumbles towards him until she is merely a foot away and then falls into him. He reacts quickly to catch her and lay her down on the couch where she starts to convulse as if in a seizure. He holds her down as a safety measure, but she stops convulsing and grabs ahold of him, pulling him down on top of her, and immeadiatly uses strength she shouldnt have had and switches to being on top of him. Her legs straddle him and her hands hold his above his head, her lips crashing down on his. He bucks and pushes to get her off of him, but she only grinds her pelvis into his and he slowly accepts theres nothing he can do.

His body responds to her touch, mortifying him further. His arms go limp under her hands, and her hands move down his arms and across his chest. Leon means half in despair and half in pleasure, until he feels her hands around his throat. She stops kissing him and squeezes. Sitting up, she tightens her hands around his windpipe with force that's almost crushing, her eyes glowing evily.

Leon's lips part as his face turns red, his eyes bulging. He regains his will to struggle and bucks his hips furiously, throwing his body to the side, and manages to roll onto the floor with her under him again. Selena loses her grip and Leon leaps away from her, reaching out to try to stop her. "Selena! You have to fight it!"

The girl was rising to her knees and snarling at him. She wasnt decaying like a zombie, but somehow her virus was reacting differently than it ever had before. He'd guessed she had been poisoned by whatever was on the blade that cut her, but now he wondered what exactly it had been. Leon looked around for a nonlethal weapon. He refused to kill her. He just couldnt.

Leon blinks, and Selena disappears.

"Boo," he hears behind him and spins around to Selena grabbing him by the throat again, this time throwing him down the hallway. Leon crashes into the wall and rolls away to stand in front of Selenas reinforced bedroom door. He fondles his hand behind his back and twists the handle just enough to crack the door open.

"So this is what he meant, huh? What'd he do to you," Leon wonders out loud as Selena stalks toward him.

"What hasnt he done to me," she answers. Her voice seemed to boom off the walls and ceiling, echoing in his ears. It didnt sound like her voice at all.

Leon's heart beat faster, and he felt the fear he always felt when showing down with a virus. Except this time he felt much like he did back in Raccoon City, when everything was still so new to him. This time, it was someone he cared about. Where she may not be trying to feast on his flesh,  he was reminded of Las Plagas, but that was probably the point. It had been a Saddler who provoked her virus the way he did.

Selena charged at him once again, and he moved out of the way just in time. The girl crashed into her own bedroom and fell to the floor. Wasting no time, Leon shut the door and held it so she couldnt get out. Screaming in rage, Selena beat on the door and tugged on the handle. Leon jerked around, trying to hold his stance.

"This isnt you! Selena!"

"Aaaarrrgh!!! Let me out!"

Selena shoved hard against the door and the knob broke. Leon was slammed against the wall, and the girl stood over him practically foaming at the mouth. She grabbed the collar of his shirt and rose him up to a fully standing position, aiming a blow to the left side of his chest.

If there was a God, then he happened to be in that hallway at that moment, as the front door burst open in splinters and a boy ran in. Jake only paused a moment and charged at his sister.

Taking a dive at her, Jake pushed Leon out of the way and pinned his sister to the floor. Selena screamed and thrashed, but Jake was stronger than her and managed to hold her down. "What's wrong with her," he ground out against his strain.

Leon had run into his room and brought back out a bag with a red cross emblem on it. Leon got busy digging through it as he answered "she's been poisoned, or...something. Saddler did something to her virus." Finally he pulls out a syringe in a cylinder and pulls it out coming to his knees beside Selenas body.

"What is that?"

"Tranquilizer," Leon grunts. "Try to move your leg so I can get to her glute."

Jake slowly, but carefully as not to give Selena a chance to buck him off, moved so that Leon could see her thigh. It was just dawning on him that she was naked, and an unpleasant shiver went up his spine. This would definitely be a part of the story he would try to block out.

Leon uncapped the tranquilizer and plunged it into the meaty part of Selenas glute. The effects were instantaneous,  but did not knock her out. Selena fell limp, only able to breathe heavily. Once he was sure she wouldnt attack again, Jake got off of her and Leon ran to get her a blanket.

"Was that legal," Jake asks.

"She was trying to kill me."

"Good point," Jake said, scratching the back of his neck as Leon put the blanket over Selena and lifted her into his arms. "How long's that stuff gonna last?"

"An hour. Maybe two. It should have knocked her out," Leon replies as Selena shivers and presses her cheek to Leon's chest. He carries her back to his bed and lays her down.

"Do you think I could help her? They haven't done anything to my blood...just drew a lot of it."

"Jake, I'm no scientist. I have no clue. But I may know someone who can help."

Selena closed her eyes and her breathing steadied out. Leon pulled out his phone and dialed the number to Rebecca Chambers.
