"Oh my God," Cherise yelled, scaring the old couple waiting on the sidewalk. "I can't believe he did that to you. So horrible!"

Sam had just told Cherise what had happened last night and she was glad Cherise also didn't find it a fun adventure.

"Were they mean to you?" Cherise asked.

"Who?"

"Those mall security guys. They always seem so tough. Like I always avoid making eye contact with them, 'cause I just don't want to draw their attention to me, you know."

"They weren't so bad. Once they realize you're innocent, they're okay." But before that they were indeed pretty weird. Bob had just kept staring at her, like she would confess to the crime if he just kept looking long enough at her.

Cherise drove into their usual parking spot at school and Zack already opened the car door before they stood still. Having no gentleman at her door, Sam opened it herself and got. out Leaving the couple to their smooching she made her way over to Timo, whom was sitting on a bench in front of the school. The boy wasn't looking too happy, but when she got closer Sam realized he was just almost sleeping.

"Long night," she asked as she sat down beside him.

"Yep, if it had only been a good night." He put his head on Sam's shoulder.

"I don't think it can be any worse than what happened to me last night."

That got her a response. Sitting upright, he turned himself at her, grabbing her arms. "That's right. What the hell happened? You texted you almost went to jail and then I have to wait until the next day to hear all about it! You know I'm not very good at that kind of thing."

"What thing?"

"Patience. You know I have no patience and I'm very curious," he grinned at her. "So, come on, tell me!"

So Sam once more explained everything, from the moment Brian picked her up to her getting hauled away by security and Ace's phone call.

"That bastard," Timo exclaimed. He seemed really, well let down actually. "I can't believe he did that to my poor Sammy." He hugged her tight. "I so did not see that one coming. So beautiful on the outside, yet so devious on the inside. Such glorious hair, yet such bad manners. A smile that will melt you, but he uses it to manipulate..." While Timo was in full out drama queen mode about Brian, Sam could barely contain her laughter. Leaving him in his dreamworld, she quietly made her way inside school when the bell rang. Timo didn't even notice.

Upon entering her class, she saw Jack sitting on her usual spot. Never in the mood for him or his antics, Sam made her way too the other side of the room, sitting down at the corner back seat. Glancing at her she saw jack wanted to get up and take a closer seat, but luckily the teacher just walked in. Save for another Jack free hour, Sam got her surprise when the guy in front of her turned around.

"He's such a jerk," Thomas whispered.

Sam sighed deeply. "Takes one to know one." With that comment, Thomas turned back to the front of the class and left her wisely alone. Those guys were growing tiresome like yesterday. Getting some attention from guys was nice, but not from these guys.

Before her second class, Sam had to go grab her history books. Ignoring the flower stuck on the outside of her locker, she opened it and a note fell out. Picking it up, she wanted to throw it away in the nearest trashcan, but Timo intercepted her.

Grabbing the piece of paper, he opened it. "Another love note, Sam?" He teased her. "Ooh, it's from Max. Apparently the rose comes with this apology. He's very sorry for what he did and he thought you belonged on that stage."

Sam ignored him and grabbed her books. "Can we just go, please?" She just walked away, not waiting for him, but he followed her anyway.

"I wonder why I never get any sweet love notes like this?"

"It's not a love note," Sam bit at him. "It's arrogant boys, who don't know when to quit."

"Still lately you've been getting more attention from boys than I have."

"You can have them all."

Cherise was waiting for them at the class room door. Timo nearly bumped Sam into the lockers, trying to get to their friend first. He handed the note to Cherise.

"Ooh Sam, another love note," she teased.

"It's not a love note. And why do you guys keep saying another? This is like the first one ever." Sam was starting to get pissed. There were plenty of other girls at their school. Why couldn't those boys bother them and leave her alone.

Cherise nudged Sam with her elbow. "Come on girl, you know we're just teasing you."

"Yeah girl, we know it's a nuisance, but it does keep things interesting around here," Timo added.

"This is all very fascinating children," Mr. Rooster interrupted their conversation. "But I'm sure it can continue after my class." They quickly hurried inside and Mr. Rooster closed the door behind them.

"Looks like it's going to be Egypt today," Timo snickered at his friends. Sam was already so used to her teacher dressing up, she hadn't even noticed the outfit he was wearing today. Sitting down, she smiled at Timo. Mr. Rooster was wearing a white toga, brown leather sandals and some weird hat. But what made her laugh was the over use of bronzer on his face, while his neck, arms and legs were their usual pale color.

"I am pharaoh Ramses the second.I was born in ..." the teacher began his lesson. You could say a lot about history class and Mr. Rooster, but boring wasn't one of them.

The rest of the day and actually week went by pretty quiet. Jack moved back to his own seat during first period, Thomas stayed out of Sam's way, Cherise was still glued to Back and Timo and Kevin kind of made up. Sam still got comments, some good, some not so nice about the Halloween dance.

The only unusual thing was that her guitarboy hadn't been online all week. Sam checked the chat room every night, but ever since she forgot he started talking to her on Monday, she hadn't heard from him again.

Putting that out of her mind, she focused on more important things, like her date with Ace. He was picking her up any minute now and she couldn't sit still. She was too nervous. Pacing her room, she kept glancing at the clock. He should have been here five minutes ago, but he was late. Totally freaking out, Sam wanted to text Cherise to ask her if this meant that Ace had stood her up. Just as she hit send, the doorbell rang. Not wanting her grandpa to open the door Sam yelled, "I'll get it."

Grabbing her bag, Sam hurried downstairs. One last check in the hallway mirror, confirmed she looked decent. She hoped she was dressed okay, as Ace hadn't told her his plans for their date. So her dark skinny jeans, some flats and a red cardigan would have to do.

Taking a deep breath, she opened her front door. But standing there was not who she was expecting.

"No, not you again."
