Hearts in Ice: a Yuzuru Hanyu Fanfiction

13: Pyeongchang

Sakura's POV

With a few more days left before the Olympics, Yuzu and I stuck to our usual morning routine. We would always go together in TCC to train and wait for the other before going home.
Whenever I finished early, I would head over the rink to watch the other skaters as they trained. On the other hand, I noticed that Yuzuru has been feeling a bit distant and stressed out lately, which I completely understand. He's a man with responsibilities, and he's got a lot on his plate, so I decided not to bother him instead. The days went by fast and now here we are, packing our luggage for tomorrow's flight to Pyeongchang.

"Hey Yuzu?" I called out. Yuzuru looked at me. "Are you finished?"

"Yes, why?" he asked back

"Well, I wanted to give you something" I replied. "Come here"

I walked to my room with Yuzuru trailing behind me. When I got inside, I searched for his present inside one of my drawers. I then gave it to him who was standing outside my door.

"What's this?" he asked curiously.

"Just a little present I got, to wish you good luck on the Olympics. I hope you like it" I answered. Yuzuru gave me a smile first before looking down to open the box.

"It's pretty kkura-chan" He told me happily. "How did you know I liked Phiten?"

"Well, I noticed that you always wore a lot of accessories. I did a quick Google search on what they were called, and had it custom made for you." I replied with a smile.

"That's really sweet." said Yuzuru, "Though I'm not sure what these stones are called. Can you tell me their meanings?, usually these stones symbolise something"

"Ah, about that, I-I-I don't know" I started to stutter. Feeling heat rise up to my cheeks. "I just got it cause they're pretty stones"

"Oh really?" asked Yuzu, moving his face closer to mine. I felt my heart race as I looked at him. "Well the look on your face says different."

"Yah! Quit teasing me will you!" I told him, my eyebrows knitted together. Yuzuru only brushed it off and laughed as he looked at my embarrassed face.

"Guess I'll have to find it out for myself" he said, still smiling and giggling. "Mind putting it on for me?"

"Alright" I sighed in defeat. "Come closer"

Yuzuru moved towards me and handed me his new necklace before turning for me to face his back. It was a custom made necklace from Phiten, embellished with two stones. The first stone was an Amethyst while the other one was a rose quartz. The Amethyst provides emotional support, whereas the rose quartz is a known love stone.

"It looks good" said Yuzuru as he looked at the mirror. "This will go well with my costume too. Thank you kkura-chan"

"Welcome" I replied with a smile.

"Ahh, and I better be getting another present from you if I win gold okay?" he asked childishly

"Yeah, Yeah you will" I laughed as I looked at him.

"And you'll get one from me too if you win" Yuzuru winked at me, making me flustered.

Yuzuru ended up coordinating our outfits for tomorrow. We both decided to wear all black inside and a long gray coat.

"Won't you be cold if you wear that skirt?" He asked, concern evident in his tone. "Besides, I think it's a bit short"

"It's alright, It's just that I forgot to wash my pants. I'll wear some tights underneath, and I also have thigh high boots, so I guess I'm pretty covered"
