16: The Olympics (Short Program)

Sakura's POV

I didn't sleep well. I woke up too early and couldn't go back to sleep, so I busied myself with reading instead to calm my mind. Today is an important day since It's day one of Yuzuru's competition and I had to prepare. I took a bath and Makita-san and the team arrived an hour later to help me fix myself. What I read last night still bothered me, I was worried about what might happen later.

"Ohyaou" I greeted and they all sat down. 

"Ohyaou Miss Chiyo" They greeted back.

"Listen Sakura-chan, Hayashi-san and the others are ready to protect you if anything happens, so don't worry too much okay?" Makita-san told me and I gave out a small smile. 

"Alright" I said while looking at the guards before bowing. "I'll be under your care"

"What will happen later is that the guards will be dressed up in regular clothes. I will sit beside you and we will be surrounded by them so that no one will be able to get close to you" she continued. 

"I'm good with that" I replied. "Thanks everyone"

The guards then stepped outside and Makita-san kept me company as she did my hair. We talked for quite some time which helped me calm down. 

Ding... My phone lit up. It was Yuzuru

Pooh-san: I wanna see you before the program starts, where are you?

Still at the hotel, will be coming there in 10 minutes. : Sakura

Pooh-san: oooh....okay then, Brian will meet you by the entrance. I'm not allowed to go out TT.

"You ready?" Makita-san asked me and I nodded my head in approval.

I was dressed warmly in all white clothing. I also chose to wore a mask just like Makita-san and the others. Everyone then walked together on the way to the village and I spotted Brian using his phone while waiting for us.

"Sakura," he called out. "Just in time. He's waiting in his room, follow me"

Yuzuru was sitting with his back facing me when I arrived inside. He had his headphones on, and so I lightly tapped him on the shoulder which startled him a bit.

"Kkura-chan" he said. Taking off his headphones. "Glad to see you"

"You ready for later?" I asked him while sitting down by his side.

"Yeah" Yuzuru replied with a smile. "Now that you're here, I feel like I am ready"

"Cheesy guy" I laughed. I then took notice of what he was wearing. "Your costume looks nice, it looks pretty on you"

"Really?" he asked. "Thanks. You look pretty too. I think I'll be able to spot from the crowd."

"Yuzuru Hanyu" someone interrupted us. "you need to get backstage in five minutes"

"Oh" was the only thing he said before looking back at me.

"I guess it's time for you to go now Yuzu" I told him and he gave me a small sad smile in return. "Good luck!"

Yuzuru went silent for a moment which concerned me. I saw him look nervous and tense, so I decided to give him a hug instead to cheer him up.

"look, don't worry too much okay?" I told him as I buried my already red face in his chest. "you'll do great Yuzu. I know you will. You'll make each and every one of us proud of you like always"

"Thank you Kkura-chan. I can't imagine what I'd do without you" he replied as he hugged me back. 

"Kkura-chan?" he called my name and I looked up to meet his eyes.
