Description:

There's a trailer I added up.

This is exactly what's written on the back of Cinder, the first book.

"Even in the future, the story begins with Once Upon a Time...

Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless Lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth’s fate hinges on one girl. . . .

Sixteen-year-old Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world’s future.

Each book:

1- Cinder

2- Scarlet

3- Cress

4- Fairest
( Technically, Fairest isn't one of the main books, it's actually written in the past and in the point of view of Levana, the antagonist of the story, and doesn't go on with the main story line. You could get by not reading it, though there's A LOT you wouldn't understand in the next book)

5- Winter
(This book resumes the main plot, it continues off of where we left in Cress)

6- Stars Above
(This one is a collection of short stories. They talk about the characters' past, futur, people around them, etc. It has 9 stories in total, and pictures, I freaking love pictures!
Though it's not necessary to read it, you can very well end the story with Winter and it works)

7- Wires and Nerves
(This is not an actual book like the rest of them, it's a graphic novel. It is set in between Winter and Stars Above in the time line. Though it is not necessary to read it, you can very well end the story with Winter and it works.)

Personal opinion:

I freaking loved The Lunar Chronicles. I read Cinder, Scarlet, Cress, Winter, a bit of Stars above, and heard all of Fairest. I also own all the physical books except Nerves and Wires. Cinder was actually the second book I ever brought and this was the first book serie I ever read that wasn't on Wattpad, Skyrock, YouTube, etc.

Anyways, it's an amazing story, all along. I have nothing bad to say about it. It's very exciting, has a lot of very different characters that are amazingly written. It's also exciting all along, and balances war and romance very well, unlike some books I'll be talking about in the near futur.

It also is a kind of alternate universe of Disney Princesses. If you hadn't guessed, Cinder stands for Cinderella, Scarlet for Red Riding Hood, Cress for Rapunzel and Winter for Snow White.

It mixes Disney princesses, futuristic science fiction, fantasy and romance very, very, very well.

It has a lot more action then Once Upon a Time, meaning it's more about war than happy endings and defeating the bad guys. I would say it's more mature, though at the end of the day, it's still Disney princesses battling the queen of the moon, so...😅

But yeah, it's more serious, and it's just plain amazing.

Also a bonus, they look amazing standing beside each other on a shelf. 😊
