Life as Jade Day: 12

PREVIOUSLY ON LIFE AS JADE:

I mumbled complaints as I put on my lavender robe, tying the belt thing around my waist securely. I put on my bunny slippers before fixing my hair a bit.

“Whoever you are you better have a good reason to be he—“ My voice shrank as I realize who it was.

“Hey.” He said.

“Hey” He said.

I was literally frozen.  (No pun intended)

And we just stood there for a few seconds before I finally slammed the door in his face.

“OW!” He yelled in pain and that’s when I realized he’s stuck his foot between the door and wall.

“Well that’s your fault! Now get out of the way Lucas!” I snapped trying to kick his foot out of the way.

“Not until you hear me out!” He said back and I furrowed my brows.

“Too bad! I don’t want to hear it!” I replied pushing the door even further to make his pain even worse.

“Please just give me one minute!” Lucas begged, his face showed pain.

Should I let him in and let him cheat on me again?

Or not?

“Fine, you have a minute.” I sighed, giving in. I just want to get this over with!

“Okay, so the thing is well… I still love you, and I’m sorry! I didn’t mean for this to happen—“

“Oh well it did.” I interrupted my tone short and clipped.

“I know but will you ever find it in your heart to give me another chance?” He finished, his eyes boring into mine and I almost give in.

I need to be stronger.

“No. Now get out of here.” I answered bluntly, motioning over to the door.

He just stands there shocked. Probably not used to being rejected. He opens his mouth but no words come out.

“What are you still doing here?? You know your way out right?” I said before he could say anything.

He frowns before angrily storming out the condo.

Phew.

I watched as he said profanities as he walked down the hallway where Kiefer shows up, brushing shoulders with him.

“What’s up with him?” Kiefer asked as soon as he comes inside.

“Eh, we broke up.” I said trying to sound cool and casual as if it was nothing and shrugged for extra effect.

His brows shot up, “Do you wanna talk about it?”

“Well, no.” I answered closing the door completely and locking it.

“Damn, so what do you want to do?” He asked, settling down on the L-shaped couch.

“I don’t know, what are you even doing here?” I followed up walking towards the fridge and looked for something to eat or drink.

Ooh, iced tea in a can.

“Nia sent me over, said something about you being lonely or something.” He reached for the remote as he said so.
