NEW TREATMENTS FOR MEMORY LOSS

WICKED TO BUILD RESEARCH LAB

"...infected will soon be treated in the new facility..."

WICKED CONTINUES QUEST FOR CURE

"...progress is slow, but apparent."

"...little is known about WICKED's treatments..."

"...is it safe?"

Her hands were shaking as she opened the seventh book of that night. Her head was pounding and her eyes were heavy, but she refused to stop.

It all began to become more and more clear with every new book, newspaper clipping and article. The chaos in her mind slowly regained its missing order. The blanks could be filled in with knowledge, as she had read most books on memory loss WICKED had to offer.

Evan was now certain that something had happened to her. Something traumatic enough to make her subconscious want to forget. And if the research was true, then only a reminder of the experience would help her remember. Only something, or someone, she had seen then, would trigger a memory.

The problem, however, was that she didn't know what or who could help her. How could she? It all lay buried in the depths of her mind and the more she tried to remember, the vaguer they became. It was frustrating. It was like her memories were a necessary object on the top shelf and she just couldn't reach.

It was maddening.

Evan's concentration during training suffered. She was either incredibly focused or her mind went haywire. She would think about anything and everything but combat and the perfect weapon assembly. It drove Janson insane as well.

His best guard was distracted. Evanna was next to useless if she wasn't focused, if the need to find out about her lost memories didn't drive her. Instead the need became an obsession, a distraction. It slowed her down.

Her bedroom walls were clad with newspaper clippings, online articles and pages ripped out of research books. And all of it was linked back to a single name. A figure without a face; the Sandman.
