TW: Mentions of Suicide

When Jace woke up he groaned. His body was in so much pain. He looked around, he was in a car? Casey's car, to be exact.

"Morning, sleepyhead," Casey joked, smirking at Jace.

"Where are we going?.." Jace asked, looking out the window.

"Well," Casey began. "You passed out when I was taking you to the nurses office, and the nurse told me to take you home."

"But this isn't my home?" Jace said, confused.

"Yeah, well I thought that we can go somewhere else." Casey said.

"The cliffs?" He inquired, tilting his head to the side.

Casey just smiled. They kept driving until they got to their destination. Casey parked the car and got out, waiting for Jace. Jace slowly got out of the car, not wanting to move too quickly. His body hurt so much. The two made their way to their special spot; they've come here since they were 9. Jace smiled and sat down on edge of the cliff, swinging his legs. Casey did the same, looking down at the water below.

"It would be so easy..." Casey mumbled, still looking down. The waves were crashing hard against the cliff side. The sound eased the boys a little.

Jace turned his head to look at Casey. "What would?" He asked.

"Killing myself," Casey said. "I could jump off this cliff and I would just die. No one would care, except you, Jace. You're the only one that cares about me."

"What about Cameron?" Jace asked, putting his hand on Casey's knee. "You'd be leaving him with John."

"I know," Casey said. "That's why I'm not going to do it."

"How's Cameron doing..?" Jace asked.

Casey frowned thinking about it. Lately John had been drinking more and lashing out more than he normally did. Casey was used to the beatings, he didn't care about it, but when John started beating Cameron.. that's a whole different story. Casey could not stand John! He's a pathetic excuse for a father.

"He's.. fine." Casey said. "He usually spends the weekend at his friends house, so he's not around John."

"Oh," Jace said.

"Yeah."

It was silent after that. The air smelled fresh, unlike the city air. Casey looked around and admired the view, it truly was beautiful..

I wish I could stay here forever, Casey thought. Just me, Jace and Cameron.

Casey jumped when Jace hugged him. He hadn't had a hug from someone other than Cameron in.. years. It was nice. Casey smiled and hugged the smaller boy back.
