Jace kept his head down as he walked through the halls of his school, clutching his sketchbook close to his chest. He didn't want to get anyone's attention, they'd make fun of him. His anxiety had been extra hightend that day. School always made that happen to him.

Jace looked up and smiled when he saw Casey standing at his locker. Jace liked when he could see Casey in the morning; Casey skipped class a lot.

"Hey," Jace greeted, walking over to Casey.

Casey smiled and moved out of the way of Jace's locker. "Hey, yourself," he said.

Jace opened his locker and grabbed his books. "How was your morning?" He asked.

"Fucking terrible," Casey replied bluntly, rolling his eyes. "What about you?"

"Okay," Jace answered halfheartedly. He didn't like talking about his home life around Casey. He didn't want to upset Casey in anyway.

"How's your mum?" Casey asked.

"She's good," Jace said. "You should come over to my house on the weekend."

"Sure," Casey said, twirling a cigarette in between his fingers.

"Casey," Jace scolded. "Put that away, you're going to get in trouble!"

Casey rolled his eyes, but obliged to Jace's request. "Anything for you, Princess."

Jace blushed, despite the fact that Casey calls him Princess all the time. "Walk me to my class?" He asked Casey.

Casey nodded. "Sure,"

Jace shut his locker and smiled at Casey. The two walked down the halls, making their way to Jace's class.

"What class do you have again?" Casey asked, looking down at Jace. Jace was 5'6 and Casey was 6'0.

"Art," Jace said. "Are you skipping first today?"

"Nah, I don't want John to be even more mad at me." Casey said.

Jace smiled. "You should stop skipping. It's not good." He said.

"I know," Jace said. "But I don't understand the work."

"I can help you.. if you want?" The shorter boy asked. The taller boy seemed reluctant, but nodded anyway.

"Sure," Casey said.
