"You're back!" Kayla exclaimed, a look of both surprise and confusion on her face when I opened the door to our apartment.
"You look surprised," I laughed lightly.
"Well...I am," I sat down on the couch beside her. "It's Monday, meaning the peace treaty doesn't apply. I'm not stupid, I know Luciano was trying to kidnap you. Why did he let you go?"
I had been completely shocked as well. I could have tried to escape this morning before he had woken up, but I just went right back to sleep. But as I was eating breakfast with Luciano, Flavio, Lutz, Gillen, and Kuro, who were already surprised by my being there in the first place, Luciano shocked all of us even more by telling me that I could leave.
There was a knock on the door before someone suddenly pushed it open.
"Luci, how long are you going to sleep? I made breakfast for once and here you are-"
But Flavio stopped short, staring at us in surprise. I was already dressed, but Luciano was still buttoning up his shirt.
"What have I told you about knocking?!" Luciano snapped at his brother. "You have no concept of privacy!"
But Flavio was more amused than scared.
"Mi dispiace," he grinned. "I'll see you both downstairs for breakfast, fratello."
"Honestly," Luciano sighed in frustration. "Bastardo."
"I mean...that could have been worse?" I let out an awkward chuckle.
Once he had finished getting dressed, the two of us went downstairs for breakfast like Flavio had wanted. It was way too late to have thoughts of escaping. There would be no way I would be able to. The fact that I was here, on a Monday morning, told Flavio and the others all they needed to know about what happened after I left the festival with Luciano. As embarrassing as this would be, I didn't really have a choice but to go downstairs.
"Look who's here," Kuro was staring at me, a wicked smirk on his face.
"Don't look at me like that..." I muttered.
Lutz looked to be still sleeping, his head resting on the table. His eyes opened to look over in response to what Kuro said, though. A grin broke out on his face.
"Congratulations, boss," he said, lifting his head. "It took you long enough."
"Do you think you could have done better?" Luciano glared.
Lutz chuckled, but didn't respond.
"Leave the poor girl alone," Flavio criticized, placing two plates of food down onto the table. "Go ahead and eat, bella. I'll bet you're starved."
"Thank you..." I was a bit flustered.
I really didn't want this attention...
The two of us sat down to eat, Flavio joining us once he passed out plates of food to Kuro and Lutz. I mostly remained silent while the others talked about the work they had going on today.
"As much as I love your company, when do you think you'll be leaving, ragazza?" Luciano suddenly asked after I had finished eating.
I didn't say anything for a moment. I was too busy staring at him in shock, trying to process if he really had just said that or if my ears were playing tricks on me. But the other four boys were staring Luciano down as well, as surprised by his words as I was.
