Ameera Belle

I made my way over to the bar to quickly grab a few glasses of chardonnay for table seven, which happens to be a table filled with many men along with wives. I can safely say that this party is the most elegant that I have ever worked. I gently lift the tray filled with full wine glasses, passing a tall businessman who seemed to be in a rush to get to the bar. I hear him mumble something under his breath but was way past him to make out what he has said.

I slowly approach the table, lifting each glass carefully and placing it onto the table near each plate. "It's under his management, so of course, we need to get his approval before any further discussion of this." I overhear one of the men say, chiming into a somewhat meaningful conversation.

"Excuse me, would you mind moving along." One wife asks, but I knew it was more of a statement than a question. I nodded quickly, not even realizing that I was standing there completely zoned out in my thoughts.

"Of course, my apologies." I smile, my cheeks now turning a bright red.

As I turn, I merely miss bumping into the tall businessmen, I saw earlier at the bar. He grips onto my shoulders to steady me. "Watch where you're going, sweetheart." He murmurs, releasing me. I feel chills rake my whole body from his touch, I freeze entirely mesmerized by him. "My apologies," I whisper.

I turned around quickly, walking over to the kitchen to get my mind off of this man. His emerald green eyes still burned into my mind, how am I going to get through this night without wanting to stand by his table and gawk at him. He is doing the same thing to me when I turn to look back at him. His eyes are narrowed in on me while his date caresses his chest.

"Ameera Belle, can you serve table six for me?" My co-worker, Lucie, asks, looking sick. I snap my gaze to the large tray she has full of many desserts, teas, coffees, and wines. I took it into my possession carefully, feeling the drinks swish around in their glasses. "Thank you so much. You're a lifesaver." She smiles, bolting away to the restrooms.

"No problem," I sigh, grabbing a stand from beside the kitchen door and making my way over to the table to deliver their meals.

"Sarah, I'm going to grab a few drinks with the guys after this," I hear his raspy voice let out. "Let our driver know I will not need a ride back."

As I place all the food down on the table in front of the guests, I divert my gaze to his wife at the next table. "Oh...sure." She sighs. I finish placing everything down and ask the table if they will need anything else.

My legs had carried me to the kitchen faster than I felt physically possible. My mind was racing with thoughts about a man I know nothing about. All I knew was that I was craving to feel his touch again.
