Lance had never thought there'd be a situation where he'd have to struggle to keep his cool, not after that massive amount of training used to prepare him for being in the future doctors list and surprisingly lance managed through it all despite all the people complaining about how hard it is to become a doctor. His mentor allura warned him- warned him that there might be some situations where lance might lose it- now it all made sense.

Flashback

"Look, lance." the white haired woman grabbed his shoulders, leveling him a serious look.

"you are a capable doctor, but remember, we all will have those moments where we lose it- whatever happened you must keep calm, lance. If you don't, there is a high chance of the situations getting even worse." lance stared at her with confusion for a moment, soon to morph into an easy grin.

"what did you expect from me, allura? I'm a pro, i'll manage." allura let go of his shoulders, still a hint of uncertainty glinting in her sky blue eyes.

"lance-" she started again but lance cut her off,

"i won't let you down." lance backed away, the grin remaining on his face as he threw her a fake salute before dashing out of the room.

End of flashback

God, lance never should've doubted her, because allura was always right. If she wasn't, he wouldn't be on his knees right now as fear towered over him, cold and ruthless and lance could already feel it surging through his veins, freezing up the blood flowing through there and lance couldn't help but feel pathetic as he sat there, shoulders hunched and leaning over the body on the floor, hands pressing against keith's chest rapidly as he lied there on the cold ground, motionless and skin already turning ashen and waxy and he was just so limp and peaceful lance found a bile rising up his throat and his vision getting blurry and he had to keep it in his mind to breath because if he'd faint it totally wouldn't fix things.

"come on keith." he mumbled, leaning down to press his mouth against keith's and he almost gagged when he felt how unusually cold they were but forced himself to keep it together as he breathed into keith's mouth, trying to make him breath again.

Please, please, anyone's listening above- please let him live.

Lance prayed silently as he continued with the CPR, billions of thoughts running through his head.

"don't-don't you dare do this to me. Not right now." lance whispered, voice strained with locked up emotions. He pressed harder, eyes never leaving the sight of the pale man lying underneath him, lips slightly blue and he looked so weak and vulnerable and lance found himself now screaming,

"you're an asshole for doing this, did you know that?" lance glared down at keith, expecting another glare in return but all he got in response was silence.

"JUST THE MOMENT I WANTED TO BE BRAVE, JUST LIKE YOU USED TO TELL ME AND NOW YOU GO DIE ON ME!????" Lance roared and stopped pressing on keith's chest, letting his head rest on keith's as he pressed his mouth to keith's to breath in again, his pulse spiking up as he took a sharp inhale, hands trembling at his side.

"don't do this to me. Don't do this to me. Don't-" lance was cut off with a dry cough coming from underneath him and his eyes snapped down, wide with shock.

"keith?" lance never thought he'd be this happy after seeing that special violet again and all he could do was to pull the black haired male into his arms so keith's head would be resting on his shoulders as the lower part of his body sprawled on the floor and when he realized what's he's doing, he had his head buried in keith's shoulder, leaving him confused. Lance couldn't blame him, he just came back from the dead.

"You idiot-" his voice broke at the end and it all came down pouring right before keith's eyes, all the fear, the pain- lance started trembling, clutching at the other like a lifeline, he just had to make sure keith was really there and he wasn't hallucinating.

"lance-?"

"just shut up and let me enjoy this you ass." lance mumbled, nuzzling into keith's neck. Thankfully keith shut up and lance felt a pair of warm arms wrap around him and let out an appreciative sigh as he listened to the rapid pulse beating against keith's neck and he was once again struck by the thought of how close he came to losing one of the most important people in his life-the love of his life and a shiver went down his spine.

"you-you were dead, you know?" lance let out a chuckle but soon it turned into a ragged sob, blaring the swordsman's alarms and keith hugged him even tighter, eyes dull with exhaustion as he stared at the ground with mild interest.

"sorry." the doctor pulled away to lock eyes with keith, eyes red from crying and trail of dried tears still glinting on his cheeks. He gave keith a stern look, silently asking what are you apologizing about? And before keith could open his mouth to utter a response a pair of soft lips crashed into his and keith let out a yelp, mind as blank as a sheet when he realized who is kissing him.

Slowly, keith's brain started to process and he ignored the yelling of oh mY quIZNAck hE's kiSSing mE through his brain as his eyes fluttered shut and his lips started moving in the same pace as lance's perfectly. For a moment he thought he heard the brunet let out a sigh of relief and a smile etched on his lip. Keith was definitely on cloud nine right now.

Soon lance broke the kiss which was followed by a small whine from keith and before he get the chance to complain even more, he was off the ground, being carried bridal style straight to lance's car parked nearby.

"try to get some rest, you've been through a lot and your body can't handle any more of that." lance whispered and keith grumbled, crossing his arms and allowing his head to fall against the cuban's shoulder. One glance at the paler male and lance had a fond smile on his face as he listened to keith trying to stifle a yawn.

"don't try to fight it, keithy~" lance cooed and he could tell from the look on keith's face that if he had the energy he'd have a bloody nose right now.

"fight me, doc." keith murmured before his breathes evened out and the doctor smiled softly, opening the back seat door and gently lying him on the seats, closing the door, another door opening and lance settled on the driver seat, glancing at the sleeping male from his rear view mirror before starting the engine.

I hope you keep your promise, mullet.
