I grabbed Nico, Bianca, Hazel and Frank and tore off towards Central Park. I remembered the Entrance Nico showed me before, the door of Orpheus, located in Central Park, I cleared my way through our lines of campers, Knocking satyrs down like house of cards, this was That urgent. I found the door of Orpheus and took a few deep breathes, hugging my knees while Nico, Bianca and Hazel caught up with me, "What are we doing here?" Nico asked "we've already been to the Underworld this week." I gave Nico a stink eye glare, god's he could be thick sometimes. I reached into my pocket and pulled out my cellphone, pulled out the ear phones turned it on shuffle and held the earphones up to a crack in the pavement. The door of Orpheus only opened if you played music, since me and Nico couldn't carry a tune in a bucket this was the best thing we had. I backed up pushing everyone else behind me in fear of exploding pavement mishaps. The ground broke open until it shaped into a cavern with a stone staircase leading down into the darkness, I took Nico's hand and strutted right into the cavern, the look on my face said Let's finish this once and for all. I couldn't lie I was surprising myself, I had never been this brave in my life, I suddenly felt my daughter of Athena Instincts kick in. My fathers kingdom didn't scare me and I knew this wasn't going be a walk in the park, but I had gotten used to that. When you're a demigod nothing is a walk in the park. I stormed into my fathers grand hall being tailed by Nico and Bianca. "What are we doing here?" Bianca said shivering with shock," l reached into my pocket and pulled out my Stygian iron dog whistle "Daedalus didn't give me this for nothing," I mused. I held it to my lips and blew a long shrill breath through it. The next thing I heard wasn't what I expected, I heard the snarling of my fathers guard dogs: Hellhounds, monstrous black dogs. Not exactly you're conventional poodle, I whistled again and commanded them in Ancient Greek, I wasn't a hundred percent sure what I was saying but it was along the lines of "we come in peace," or "get back I am your mistress, daughter of Hades," the Hellhounds dispersed and I walked to the center of the round chamber, I pulled my dagger from its sheath, and tossed it into the ccenter and yelled a command word. An Egyptian command word.
At that moment the whole room shook, so hard Frank doubled over like a baby panda learning to walk. Golden sand swirled up into the air until the whole room glittered gold. I smiled warmly. My spell worked. I saw a beautiful woman step forward with long, curled perfectly silky smooth black hair, cream painted over copper skin and kaleidoscope eyes. She wore gold robes and a crown that looked like bulls horns. Hathor the goddess of love. A man with dark copper skin, silvery white eyes, and a black side-lock on his head, Khonsu the moon god, I saw Nekhbet, the vulture goddess, Babi the baboon god, Nut the sky goddess and Shu god of air. "Now were cooking," I shouted with glee, "what do you Need lady Truax, said Hathor. I stood their still shaking, I couldn't believe a goddess was asking me for instructions. I felt like i had just been electrocuted, i bowed formally to the goddess "as you know, Olympus is crumbling we need All of Egypt to help, please we're giving it all we have," Hathor smiled "consider it done," she said with a smile, before transforming into gold mist and vanishing, the other gods followed suit, I dusted off my hands and prepared to leave when we all heard growling. "Did you forget something miss?" A voice crooned from behind me, it was creepy enough to send chills up my spine, but also sexy and soultry like a vampire or a 1940's actress. I turned around to see a beautiful creature step from the shadows surrounded by growling jackals. He was tall, dark and very beautiful, he had pale skin that glowed in the Light, perfectly razor cut messy black hair, Golden, sharp eyes like a wolf on the prowl, perfect full lips and a muscular toned body, his eyes were lined with perfect dark kohl which made a perfect cat eye, and his Cheekbones, they were made of steel and made him look seductive yet deadly, he wore black men's dress boots, Black too-skinny jeans that were ripped at the knees, a dark grey button down and leather jacket, Anubis: god of the dead.
At that moment Frank once again forgot how to properly Frank, and went into clumsy baby panda mode. Anubis strode forward and smiled at me, "is he alright?" He said gesturing to Frank who had wobbled over and was now being helped up by Hazel, "lord Anubis," I said with an Elegant at you're service bow. "That's not necessary," he held out his hand to silence me and strode over to Frank, "Frank..." he mused softly "would you mind getting up and retrieving my blade for me angel?" He fluttered his eyes. That face, that tone I knew it like the back of my hand, It was the same look that Piper gave when she charm spoke. Frank got up and ran off as fast as his pudginess would allow. I stood there impressed "I'm sorry did you just charm-speak?" I asked. Anubis flashed his beautiful smile at me "why yes I did" I was shocked, "you're Egyptian, how can you charm speak?" I asked tilting my head with curiosity. "You know you could do it too..." Anubis Smiled and chuckled to me "Love and Death are very similar, so some children of death have the same abilities, such as charm speak and telepathy," I nodded as if to say cool, Frank waddled forward holding what looked like a morticians suitcase. "Thank you love," he told Frank patting his head like he was a cute panda. "Let's go kick some Grass!" Anubis smiled we all ran out of the duat a look of determination on my face.
New York looked like it was under siege by the party ponies. The Egyptian gods hold clearly taken the signal very well, Some of them flew giant falcons, others rode war chariots or turned into their sacred animals and charged forward. I was stricken with worry when what looked like a giant blimp passed over the sun, it wasn't a blimp, I looked up into the sky to see a giant shadow quite Literally SWALLOW THE SUN!! "Apophis!" Carter screamed and ran towards me, we were running out of time and heroes, our half bloods were all running out of weaponry and resources "Oh no You Don't!!" A voice yelled. It was a voice I hadn't heard before everyone stopped in their tracks and turned around, shock and awe in our eyes "What's happening, who are they fighting!" Carter yelled "each other," Zia Rashid was smiling "look!" She called, I looked up to see three beautiful goddesses charging into battle driving war chariots, their faces screwed up in anger and concentration. I could tell they were the sisters of justice, Nemesis, Nike and Tyche. Nike was dressed in all white robes, with a golden laurel crown wrapped around her head, with her golden hair in a doughnut braid. Her sister Tyche was charging forward beside her trying to knock her out of the way, she was dressed in green robes with a silver circlet with a full chariot wheel on it (since they didn't have four leaf clovers in Ancient Greece) her long red hair was pulled back and she lashed around. In the lead was Nemesis my favorite minor goddess she wore all black Italian leather with black fallen Angel wings and long auburn hair, her face was screwed with Anger, she pulled her golden sword of justice from her belt and held it out to her side slashing every flying demon she could see in front of her, she glared at her sisters "on to battle!" She hissed. I was so happy to see the god's pitching in to help their children. Nemesis dropped down out of her chariot, and pulled her golden fiery whip from her belt loop And swung it around like a lasso before lashing it from one side to another knocking out everyone in her path leaving them with terrible burn marks, she slammed the whip against the ground cracking the entire road in the process. Out of the crack sprouted Geb the Earth god, I was floored by the god's actual attempt to help. Hapi, lord of the Nile wiped out a whole load of enemies with a giant title wave. I looked up at the top of a building to see Hecate, goddess of magic, rising from the shadows and brandishing her torches, setting hundreds of legions on fire with her torches. Hazel appeared beside her, and began hurling precious minerals at her Enemies. I knew Hazel and Hecate shared a special bond, Neith the hunting goddess was unleashing a limitless folly of arrows on the rebels. I was so mind boggled that this was happening, we were finally winning "Wait! I've got just the thing!" I yelled, and tore off towards the Empire State Building. It was time, to strike for Olympus. "Where are you going?" Piper shouted, "to finish this once and for all," I shouted back.
On my way to Olympus I noticed a bunch of other gods defending Manhattan, Zephyr and his brothers were flying around like a whirlwind, Shu was doing the same thing. I ran right into the lobby of the Empire State Building, didn't even stop to ask questions but headed straight to the elevator, six-hundredth floor, just as always. I headed straight to Mount Olympus, my eyes on the prize I knew exactly what I was going in for. I unsheathed my daggers and kept my hands clenched around the owl hilts. I ran out of the elevator down the bridge. Everywhere I looked their were god's charging into battle in war chariots, I headed straight for the throne room of the god's. Suddenly i heard a loud whimpering, I raced right Into the room, Daggers blazing, my bow and quiver at the ready. I stormed into the Utility room, and what i saw left me shook. I found Ganymede cupbearer of the god's, Lover of Zeus and god of Homosexual love and Desire, bound to a chair with a blade at his throat, the weapon belonged to Amir Fadlan. I grit my teeth, I hated him, he was a Muslim and betrothed to Samara Al-Abbas, daughter of Loki and Valkyrie. "What are you doing?!" I shouted, "Well, well, well miss Truax, You finally came," I cleared my throat and unsoldered my bow, "What are you doing?" I asked, I held my bow at attention with shock, "my apologies miss Truax, but it has to be done," my palms started to sweat, I gathered my breath while my heart sank, "This war, is it you're doing?" I said through pursed lips," he chuckled "no," "but they have the right idea, The gods lied," my heart practically stopped, my face fell, and Eyes came forward in shock "What?!" I demanded "they told you Camp Half-Blood was a magical place, where you would learn to become heroes, the truth was it was so they didn't have to see your face, they hate you," my blood started to boil with Anger. "You're godly parents never try to help you or stand with you, as soon as they impregnate mortals, they disappear leaving you to be raised by only one parent, be bullied treated unfairly, and do nothing to defend you," "The god's are all down their right now fighting with their children!" I demanded, "Yes, that may be true, but they aren't real gods," he said "a real god, wouldn't be selfish, narcissistic, angry and Ignore their own child," I stood there shocked "a real god would create a better world for his people," my eyes fell, were that really how the god's were? Had I been lied too my whole life? As if on cue, Anubis, Thalia, Sadie and Annabeth came running forward, "Who's idea was this? Destroy the world for what? Equality?" I was a hundred percent aware of how Ironic murder for sake of Equality was. "Not the world, the god's, think about it, the world is literally governed by self-centered, arrogant freaks, who really could care less about you," "I mean think about it, the god's see Humans as game pieces, tiny rodents, things they could play with for their own amusement, and these are your saviors?" I wanted to cut Amir's head off, but I knew this wasn't him talking. It had to be set, or other angry, narrow minded god. "I'm not you're enemy," I said standing my ground and pulling my bow from my shoulder. "I am Dakota Truax!" I declared "Daughter of Hades, Lord of the Underworld and Athena, Grey eyed lady of Wisdom and knowledge, Maiden Hunter of Artemis, I belong to no city, no camp, no City and no man. The oracle can can it I'll make my own destiny," I loaded up my bow with Two Stygian iron arrows "I know you're not Amir in that body, tell me who you really are!" I demanded. "I am the Norse goddess of chaos," I bit my tongue. Suddenly it all fell into place. "You're the Lightning thief," I said "all you want is to destroy Olympus, Get back at the god's, why?" I asked "for Power, Wealth? What?" I asked with Shock, "Isn't it Obvious?" She said "look at yourselves, always trying to find something to complain about, blaming the Oracle, Fate, the gods, Humans refuse to take responsibility, always trying to find someone else to blame, pointing fingers at everyone they could and never taking blame," I couldn't lie, I did agree with her, I had been that way as a child, constantly finding other people to blame for their crimes. Than I remembered what I learned from my love of Egyptian mythology. It only mattered who you were on the inside, not what we did "Okay, but why would you attach yourself to these monsters? Why them?" I called, putting down my bow. I didn't want to attack, I wanted to understand. "Look at them, weak, mad at the world, fighting a war they will never win..." I interrupted "they're gullible," I said. "They believe the whole world is out to get them, Everything is Anti-hellhound, anti-Hydra and anything else, when they just refused to look in the mirror, and realize..." I looked down and suddenly realized I was getting taller. "They all want war to stop, but that's not how it works, the world isn't perfect, no one can make the world perfect, people are going to disagree," I suddenly realized what I've been talking about. "I know that the World is a balance, there is no good and evil, there is only power," I looked down to see Amir seemed to be shrinking. I reached for my bow "and you just Want to watch the world burn," I said nocking an arrow "I may not be perfect but no one is," i thought about what had Happened to me when I bathed in the river Styx, Achilles told me to focus on something that kept me anchored to mortality, I had thought of the Hunters of Artemis. My real true Family. I pulled back my bow and hit the goddess right in the heart.I stood there with shock. Olympus was falling apart and all my comrades were down in the streets still fighting. I took out a ruby pendant from my pocket and clasped it to my heart. I thought of everything, that I could, that was good. My mother, Melanie with her frizzy blonde hair, and motherly smile. My father Darryl an incredibly huggable Native American auto mechanic with fluffy black hair, glasses and a really dumb sense of humor. I thought about the good old days. Going to the Egyptian Pharaohs museum back in Arkansas. The botanical gardens in Huntsville. My best friends. My make a wish trip to Hawaii when I was nine. My grandmother telling me stories of all the countries she visited before she died. My sisters and all my Happy memories. I took the ruby pendant and threw it into the sky and spoke the most powerful command word I knew "Ma'at!" I commanded. The Egyptian word for order and Harmony. All the fighting stopped everyone fell over to the sidewalk. The snake spit out the sun. The clouds cleared away. Everyone on the sidewalk started to wake up.
