Early the next morning, there was a knock on my door. Lillian quickly ran to the bathroom. I slid my pants and shirt on, and opened it door.
"Come on in Mcconnell," I said as I opened the door.
"There's been another murder," he said as he looked to me for answers.
"I have good news."
"I hope so, her majesty herself said that she was tired of reading about the muders in the paper and I'd have to find a new job if I didn't solve them soon," he said.
"The murderer is not a doctor," I said.
"Thank goodness. I'm glad I brought you in on this case," Mcconnell said in relief.
"There's more that we discovered," I said.
He gave me one of those looks. Lillian opened the bathroom door and stepped out. Mcconnell took off his hat in politeness.
"Mrs. Lillian Dubious," he said.
"Good to see you constable," she said.
I looked at him as his cheeks turned a rosey pink.
"Nice to see you too. Are you working this case with Josh?" he asked.
"Yes and we have discovered what the murderer is," she said.
"What the murderer is?" Mcconnell asked.
"We took samples from the mudered victim wounds and discovered spider saliva," I said.
"So I'm gonna tell her majesty that a spider killed all those young people," Mcconnell said as he shook his head.
"Does she know about vampires?" Lillian asked.
"Yes, and the poor bloke that told her now works in the stables, " Mcconnell said.
"From all the weird things that I've in this world, I'm gonna guess that the murderer is a hybrid," I said.
"That would explain a lot," Lillian said.
I hunted through my desk and found a map of the city, then I opened it up on the table. Using a red ink pen I placed a star where all the muders had occurred.
"Where was this last one?" I asked.
"On Thames road by the Mills hotel," Mcconnell said.
I put a star at location. We looked close and realized all the muders had occurred in a ten block area. I drew a line connecting all the star. All the lines intersected over the Mills hotel.
"That's were the murderer frequently visits," I said.
"I'll place around the clock patrols there," Mcconnell said.
"You shouldn't do that," Lillian said.
"Give me twenty four hour," I said.
"Why should I wait?" Mcconnell asked.
"Because you hired me yesterday and I need a little time to set up a trap," I answered.
"Very well Josh, twenty four hours," Mcconnell said and left my apartment.
"What do we do first?" Lillian asked.
