" forever cursed in love are the observant, forever a slave to the detail "
IN the sitting room, Lena sat reading. Her legs were thrown over the arm of the armchair she was sat on, the grimoire was open in her lap. Lena liked to read over her family grimoires whenever she felt unsure in her life. They helped to make her feel closer to the ancestors whose powers ran through her veins.
"I cannot believe you disposed of those vampires without me," Rebekah said to her brother. She pushed herself away from the window, where she had been glaring in disdain at the leftover ashes on the front lawn. "You know how I love to set things on fire."
Lena couldn't help but let out a breath of laughter, looking up from her book to see Rebekah already grinning at her.
"Was I supposed to leave them in the front yard to rot?" asked Klaus from where he leant against the doorframe. "Besides they were my responsibility. They attacked the helpless, pregnant girl who's carrying my child."
"So moving!" cried out Lena, touching her hand to her chest as if actually warmed by Klaus' words. Rebekah giggled to herself as she sat on the unused arm of Lena's armchair, allowing the witch to lean against her.
"I am so moved towards your newfound sense of fatherly duty towards the werewolf carrying your hybrid bun in her oven," said Rebekah, causing Klaus to laugh. Lena quickly dropped her head back into her grimoire. She had never seen a smile so beautiful before, and she hated that she thought like that. He was Rebekah's brother for Christ's sake, nothing could ever happen!
"The werewolf--" Hayley had just walked in, clutching a leather-bound journal to her chest, "--would like to know what the plan is."
"Oh me too!" said Lena, who had been too busy showering and getting changed to be present when Rebekah and Klaus were finalising whatever plan they had come up with to get Elijah back.
"Well, that depends what plan you mean love," Klaus said to Hayley, smirking at her. "My plan for global domination or Rebekah's plan to find love in a cruel, cruel world!"
Rebekah let out a hum of laughter before grabbing the pencil Lena had been using to scribble down notes or underline important facts in her grimoire and throwing it at her brother. However, Klaus caught the pencil before it could stab him in the eye and he smirked at his sister before throwing it - gently - back at Lena. She caught it, luckily, and went back to her note taking and underlining much to Klaus' fascination.
"The plan to rescue Elijah!" Hayley snapped, forcing Klaus' attention away from the small witch. "You know, the good brother, the one who is now in the possession of your mortal enemy after you stabbed him in the back!"
