It was graduation day. The day they had all been waiting for since the start of freshman year. All 7 members of the losers club walked into the auditorium, they went everywhere together and graduation was no different. Eddie and Richie were hand in hand, Richie looked over at Eddie, he still couldn't believe that this incredible human being was his. Through all they've been through they found each other, always stayed by each other, they always came back to each other. Even though Richie wouldn't admit it he knew it was fate. Even Stan and Bill were linked hand in hand, Richie smiled at them knowing Stan was finally truly happy. Richie couldn't stop staring at his and Eddie's hands as they approached their seats. "What?" Eddie laughed noticing Richie's stare. Richie softly kissed Eddie's lips, "I love you." Eddie grinned to the point where Richie thought his heart might burst. "I love you too dork." Both of them had so much love for the other it was undeniable they were meant to be together.
The principal walked on stage about to announce the valedictorian of the class. "Hello fellow students and families, my name is Mary Naru and I'm the principal of Derry High. I would like to start off my saying what a lovely group of people we have here and each and every one of them deserves to be getting their diploma. I would now like to announce the valedictorian, Edward Kaspbrak!" Applause rang from every corner of the auditorium as all the losers looked over at Eddie with proud, gleaming eyes. Eddie had his speech all planned out, how he was gonna thank his friends, school, even his mom as much as he didn't like her. But when he got up to that podium his mind went blank.
"Hi, my name is Edward Kaspbrak, or as most people call, Eddie. I had a speech all planned out but I've decided to say what's in my heart instead." Eddie looked over at Richie, seeing eyes of encouragement and love. It was then he decided he was gonna do it, fuck it, he thought. "Most of you expect a valedictorian to be someone who spends most of their time studying, being in multiple clubs, having various friends and loved by everyone. I'm not that person. But I was lucky enough to be blessed with my amazing group of friends who I love and adore, and my beautiful boyfriend, Richie Tozier." Eddie looked at Richie again and he could see tears starting to form in his eyes, he loved this boy so damn much. "I wrote a paper half way through the school year, it was the most praise I've ever gotten on a paper by a teacher before, and I want to share that with you all." Eddie reached into his pocket and pulled out a neatly folded piece of paper. He cleared his throat and began, "Most people in the class will write about their mom, dad, family friend, grandparents someone who've they known for a long time as the person they love the most. I am not one of those people, I'm here to tell you all about this amazing boy, who's tall, has curly hair and wears these thick black glasses. He makes me feel like him and I are the only people in this world and that as long as we are together there's nothing we can't do and no one to stop us. Meeting Richie Tozier was one of the best things to happen in my life. Our story didn't start out as peachy perfect as most people's, it had some ups and downs that kept us apart. There's one thing that I never wrote in the paper at that time that I want to do right now." Richie was crying, he couldn't help it. At those words he was utterly confused and nervous for what Eddie was going to say, but he didn't care he just wanted this whole thing to be over so he could go and kiss Eddie. "Even though we've only been together 6 months, I think there will be a point in time where I will marry this boy." Eddie and Richie locked eyes, Richie looked up at Eddie with shock. "In fact I think I wanna do that right now." Richie looked at Eddie with complete shock and surprise. "Richard Wentworth Tozier, will you do me the honor of marrying me?" Richie jumped out of seat as everyone gasped and started cheering. Richie started walking, no, running up onto the stage as Eddie met him at the top of the stairs and embraced him into a passionate kiss, one neither of them wanted to stop. Richie smirked into the kiss causing Eddie to pull back and stare at his now fiance. The crowd cheered as the rest of their friends ran to them as they did a group hug. All of them were crying, they loved each other so much and the thought of leaving soon and starting a new chapter in their lives was heartbreaking. Richie pulled Eddie aside out of the crowd so they could be alone. "So I'm taking that as a yes." Eddie giggled. "Oh fuck yeah ed's, are you kidding me I love you so much I was planning to propose to you but I guess you beat me to it. I couldn't imagine spending my life with anyone else. God I love you." Their lips smashed together again, Eddie cupping Richie's face pulling him in closer. "I love you so much Rich, I hope you know that." Eddie said after they pulled away staring straight into Richie's eyes. "I know ed's. I know." And with that they walked out of the school, ready to start the new chapter in their lives, together side by side.
