Jungkook's P.O.V.
"Don't bother now. He also told he isn't staying home tonight."
After what Namjoon hyung said about Taehyung not staying home tonight, it saddens me. Namjoon hyung looks so serious, and he's looking at me in a different way like I did something wrong.
"What?" I asked, not really believing what he just told me. That is really un-Taehyung like from what I know.
"You heard me right, Kook."
"If he'll not be home for tonight, where would he go? And he didn't say something that he'll be out."
"Well, that's for you to find out. By the way, what's up between you and Carol?" Namjoon hyung questioned, resting his hands inside his pocket as he relaxed his shoulders, tilting his head a bit.
"Oh, it's nothing, hyung," I replied, not planning to talk about Carol. "Kook, whatever it is, don't do it again. Taehyung is your boyfriend," he trailed off. That just made me piss off. He and the others knew the truth about Taehyung and I that we aren't really that serious in a relationship, yet they are pushing me the other way around.
"Not this again. You guys knew that we aren't really committed. That's why I fight every single day with him." I hissed as my brows scrunched.
"Is that so, Jungkook? Are you still blaming Taehyung why you and Carol broke up? Tell me, are you still in love with her? Is that why it's so hard for you to open up with Taehyung?" He bombarded, catching me off guard.
"Hyung, enough. Don't include, Carol here. The reason why we argue and fight everyday is just between the two of us," I replied with a low tone of voice, containing my temper. He's my hyung after all.
"Actually, I was glad that you and Carol broke up because of Taehyung. Because if without his help, when will you know that she's constantly cheating on you?" That was all he said and turned his back away from me. Great!
Memories from I think about a year ago played back in my mind.
Indeed, I love Carol, that was before. But I'm not certain from what I feel for her now, and that's because of Taehyung, because of his company. He has been nice to me despite the curses he blurted out every time I do shit. Well, that was because it was my fault, so I couldn't blame him.
I've already known Taehyung for how many years since childhood before I knew Carol, of course since our moms are best friends until now. They said that we were also best friends. We used to play tag, build sandcastles, pushed each other on the bike without training wheels, made cookies that turned out to be burnt, and even bathed together, as what our mothers said. I barely remember those.
But at all sudden, they've decided to settle in Australia as his father was assigned there to work. Mrs. Kim doesn't have a choice but to follow her husband. I remembered I cried a lot before and after they left.
But then, when they came back here, everything's changed. He was 14 and I was 15 at that time they came back, and the last time we played with each other was when our ages were five and six. As what my mom told me, Mr. Kim died after suffering Leukemia, so Taehyung and his mom came back here in Seoul. After that, Taehyung changed. He wasn't the bubbly one again, the one who used to smile and laugh a lot.
When we saw each other again, he didn't talk to me, but I really want us to do so since I've been longing for his presence after all the years that had passed. I was trying to communicate with him, but he won't utter a single word and just walk away. I didn't bother to make a conversation with him anymore, knowing that he'll just turn his back away from me. Starting at that moment, it became awkward for us to converse with each other again.
I've lost a friend and I, too, changed. I got cold and doesn't care about people again, especially to the ones who chose to forget you after all the memories you created before.
That's when I met Carol. She hammered my stone heart. She was so warm and cozy, and I loved her so much. She gave me attention which I was asking from Taehyung.
But unexpectedly, Taehyung saw her and a random guy making out along the school's hallway. That made my heart torn into pieces. It was unbelievable for her to do that. I would've gave her another chance but Taehyung saw them multiple times, but he just chose to be mum, not wanting to interfere in our relationship.
But Taehyung was just being silent, he's like the I-don't-give-a-fuck-about-you type. He's just friends with Jimin and Jin. He doesn't care about other people's business unless it includes him.
The reason why we were in this so-called relationship is because Taehyung's mom is still depressed after losing her husband, and so does Taehyung. He really looked alike with his dad, that's why whenever she see Taehyung, it reminds her of her husband. Mrs. Kim wants to see Taehyung smile like his dad because it makes her happy.
So they'd planned out to get us into a relationship for Mrs. Kim's happiness. My mom wants to help so she asked me if it would be okay and I said yes without even thinking. At that moment, I just want Carol to be out of my mind for a while.
They thought it wouldn't be hard for us to get along since we were so close when we were young. They thought that if we would be in a relationship, Taehyung would be happy again. But our mothers didn't know about this new catch of us not talking to each other. They thought it would be a win-win situation.
But they thought wrong.
