four years later.

Zayn.

I threw the bottle against the wall and glared at Marie.

"You think I wouldn't care?" I yelled as she whimpered in the corner of the living room. "You fucking took my child and didn't think I'd care?"

"She's my daughter and she came out of my vagina, I think I have a right to have her for a day too Zayn!" Marie glared at me as she yelled, Marie had taken Anabelle to the park yesterday. Let me correct that, she had picked Ana up from preschool without my permission and had taken her to the park, again without my permission.

"It's not your fucking weekend to have her Marie!" I boomed as I stalked over to Marie who was up against the wall. I grabbed her chin and pulled her close. "She's my daughter too, Marie. We share her until she's old enough to choose between us. You can not just take her from me when it's not your turn with her!"

"You're pathetic Zayn. You really think she'll choose you over me? You're an alcoholic and a druggie, if the judge finds out what you're up to, you won't ever see her again." she snapped and ripped my fingers off of her chin. She walked over to the couch and grabbed her things, stalking over to the door she turned and faced me. "You promised me Zayn, guess promises don't mean shit to you, huh?"

She slammed the door shut behind her.

"Daddy? Why is mommy leaving again? Did I do something wrong?" Ana was standing in the hallway near our bedroom, my heart sank. She had heard everything.

"No baby no, you didn't do anything wrong. Mommy just forgot it wasn't her day with you baby, I'm so sorry." I wrapped my arms around my baby girl and held her tight.

Marie was wrong, I had kept my promise to her. I had gotten better, I hadn't broken her promise. She had broken mine, and she broke my heart along with it.
