CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

There were nearly 100 men sitting around in the backyard. Talking to one another, discussing the plan Namjoon was explaining over and over again to small groups of men at a time. I have been looking for Hoseok since Sunday when we made eye contact in the main office, but he's been avoiding me. It's now friday and the mission goes down tomorrow. He says he is training, and he is, but I know he is only trying to fill time so I can't catch him and discuss what he saw. I don't know what changed, I didn't believe in Hoseok's psychic tendencies until I saw that look in his eyes. It was like life flashed before them, and I guess it did. Future life.

"Hey honey." I turn to see a tall man, he was a teardrop tattoo below his left eye, and a very thick Japanese accent. "Get me a drink would ya doll?" He is sitting in a lawn chair his legs spread and his posture horrendous.

I roll my eyes as my temper surges. "Do you know who the fuck I am?" I was going to walk over and teach him a lesson but Yoongi grabbed my arm spinning me to walk in the other direction.

"Woah there Baby, let's use nice words with our guests." He says with half sarcasm and half annoyance. He leads me inside to an empty room, one of the only empty hallways left in this mansion.

"Where's Hoseok?" Yoongi's face drops. "Don't fucking play dumb with me Min Yoongi. Where is he? Did he tell you what he saw?" Yoongi didn't say anything as he kept walking down the hallway toward the in house arsenal. We walked into the room as I continued speaking. "Yoongi he has been avoiding me for two days. I know you know where he is now-" I looked up and the boys were sitting around on looking at me. They were spread out around the room sitting on the floor, chairs, and on top of counters. I shut my mouth when Hoseok and I made eye contact.

"Kris." My stomach dropped. "He's not going to talk to you." Jimin said from his spot next to Yoongi and Hoseok.

"Why not?" I put my hands on my hips and the boys sighed.

"He's not talking to anyone. He hasn't said a word since Sunday." Jin said as he fiddled with a switchblade.

"Because he saw something?" The boys nodded.

"Princess listen. This mission is dangerous, we all knew that but it's worse." Jungkook ruffles the back of his hair as he searches for the right words to say. "You need to promise us you are going to listen, you are going to do whatever Namjoon orders. Okay? You can't act on impulse and you can't do something just because you think you can. We have to play this out step by step, precisely to the plan."

I furrowed my eyebrows confused as to why they were making me promise this. Did they not trust me?

"If this is about the grocery store, I'm sorry. I was just staying alert."

"Do you promise us?" Jungkook repeated and suddenly I didn't feel safe. It didn't feel like I was apart of Amphis, it felt like Amphis against Kang Kris again. I didn't like it, of course I wouldn't ever deliberately try to get anyone hurt or try to fuck up the plan. But I can't just reverse 20 years of training, when I'm put into these situations I become a different person. I don't think or listen, I do what I see is fit in that situation. It's what I was trained to do, it's instinct.

"I-" I looked away from them and I heard them sigh collectively. "I promise that I will try my best."

"That's not good enough." Namjoon said sternly.

"Well that's all I got!" I threw my hands up in defeat, I'd hope they'd see where I'm coming from but I know they don't. There will always be apart of them that sees me as a Kang. There will always be apart of them that will only see me that way. There is nothing I can do about that. Over this month I've slipped up twice, and I guess that's too many. But who am I to expect them to trust me after only knowing me for one month, and after seeing me kill anyone on command for two years.
