Today was the day SpongBob was going to truly confess his feelings to Squidward. No more playing Mr. Dumb guy. He was serious about this. After all, Squidward only had eight months to live. SpongeBob wanted to let the truth be known before it was too late.
Squidward had developed an incurable disease called 'Clarinetitis'. Clarinetitis occurs when someone who is not good at the clarinet plays the clarinet for too long. They start to get weak and their body ends up slowing down. It's a rare disease that only happens every fifty years. Squidward was unfortunate enough to have been diagnosed with it.
When the news came out that Squidward had Clarinetitis, SpongeBob was the one who took it the hardest even though it only affected Squidward. Everyone else couldn't care less about Squidward and his disease. He was an asshole after all.
SpongeBob fell in love with that asshole named Squidward Tentacles.
