Cory POV
The air lingered of spice and cinnamon as I welcomed the sun basking me in its warmth beckoning me with its searing finger; for me to give in to the light . I pushed its tempting embrace to the furthest corners of mind. I can't even remember how I got here - I feel like I'm meant to be somewhere else. I can see the blurry lines of whitewashed walls and blue bedded sheets, but nothing sticks. The memory dissolves as quick as it came. Whilst my mind pleads for a few more moments in this paradise.
Neon green moss softens as a makeshift bed holding the weight of my body up as if it was as light as a feather. The sweet scent of honeysuckle envelops my senses as I see I'm wearing a thin white and cotton wife beater shirt and a a pair of tight fighting leather trousers. It looked as if a fairytale prince had puked on me. I can picture a vaguely familiar auburn eyed boy with curly black hair taking the mick out of me for it. I just can't think of his name. All I remember is the pain and my heart shattering when she kissed him. Not me. Him.
Just outside the rose tainted garden I hear a giggle so soft yet delicate, but I would be a fool if I didn't recognise its sound. You could strip me of every memory I had, but I wouldn't and couldn't forget the tinker-bell jingle of her laugh. So soothing and light-hearted it was music to my ears.
I turned around and saw her. She was adorned in an emerald wrap around dress that matched her forest green eyes. It clinched in at the waist and had a mermaid trailed bottom. Her beauty was effortless and I preferred when she wore no make-up like she did now. Gorgeously natural it hurt my eyes to gaze at her, she was like an enchantress I couldn't help, but admire her in all her faultless glory. From her sun kissed skin, freckle tickled nose, plush rose-tipped lips, her flushed cheeks and defined cheekbones. She didn't know just how beautiful she was, is one of the reasons I was drawn to her like a magnet. The electrostatic connection undeniable.
She pouted and covered her mouth with her soft petite hand. Flashing me a mischievous grin that she knew floored me. Her luscious golden curls bounced under the sunlight as she turned around on her minute bare feet. Running through the medieval wooden door as it swung open on it's rusted iron hinges. So that was how she wanted me to play it. She wanted to be chased. Whatever she wanted she would have. She could have the most expensive perfume in all of arabia for all I cared. As I gallantly sprint after her, I find myself navigating through a maze of sandstone walls towering above me like Goliath and David.
I heard her thudded footsteps echoing all through the pathway as I ran and I ran till my legs could take no more. I couldn't see her. All I saw was her face and her voice still haunting me. Calling me to follow her deeper and deeper into the farthest depths of the shadows. Till I could barely breathe let alone see. It felt as I had been vacuumed into a void without any oxygen. That I'd climbed aboard a sinking ship. I was choking. I could feel the last tiny shed of oxygen limply leave my depleted lungs as I sagged down on the brittle sooted ground.

"Help! Help! Someone save Cassie!" I cried in my sleep tossing and turning till - thud. I opened my eyes and realised I was still in the hospital. Memories flooded my thoughts. As it dawned on me my familiar pattern of nightmares. The ones where I lose the girl. If I hadn't already lost her - my mind mumbled bitterly. I picked myself up the cold, bleached floor. Scrambling back onto my bed. As my ears pricked onto a familiar sound of scattered, panicked feet. Nurse Bradshaw, a woman in her early sixties, thundered into the room. Making a dramatic entrance. Her brow creased, as she looked at me with the concern of a puppy that'd lost its way.
"The same nightmare again Cory?" She asked.
I laughed in spite of myself, "The very same in deed Nurse Bradshaw."
