Maia POV

It had been two weeks since Tyler had been arrested and something was definitely fishy. The police had been stalling the press for time on the case of St Martin's Hospital. They gave out very little information, so the press stepped up their campaign for gossip. Tyler's face was plastered on the news every morning. People discussing the case over a cup of coffee like Tyler was already guilty. I hated it. I hated how people just assume the worst of others without knowing the whole story. As cliché as that sounds it's true.

Cassie wasn't doing any better. At one point I had to wrestle her to the ground to stop her from punching a hole in the tv and cursing Michael the news anchor's name into the deepest, darkest depths of hell. Other than the ones who knew Cassie well, not many would believe me., but Cassie isn't usually a violent person. Although rub her the wrong way and her feisty side comes out to play. I remember asking Cassie to pass me the salt before she'd had her morning coffee. It's safe to say there was no salt left. Cassie used the rest of it in my cup of tea. I've learnt my lesson.

We were all worried sick about Tyler as after 14 days he was supposed to be released from custody. Each day that passed since then, the pit in my stomach grew and that's when Cory came up with the stupidest idea known to man...

"This is a terrible idea. On a scale of terribleness, you both broke it with this plan." I muttered with my eyes scrunched closed. As I silently prayed to every God imaginable.

"Come on Maia, it's not that bad." I raised my eyebrows. Clearly unimpressed.

"Define bad." I retorted.

"Well-" Cory started speaking, but I cut him off. Clamping my hand over his mouth.

Cory rolled his eyes at me playfully.

"I don't see why I have to be the distraction." I complained.

"Maia you are the clumsiest person I know of. I'm not sure a stealth operation would be your strong suit." Cassie replied softly as I huffed in defeat.

"I give up. Leave me with Creepy Al." Cory snorted and burst into a fit of laughter.

I rolled my lip in my mouth trying to stop myself from breaking out into a grin. As Cory's dimples shook with his laughter at my expense. Whilst Cassie dug her nails in her hands in a poor attempt to stifle her giggles. Once the two of them could laugh no more, Cassie gently shoved me towards the rotating glass doors of the police station. I can't believe I'm actually doing this I grumbled internally in my head.

My nude pumps far too high for my liking, clicked on the concrete tiles leading up to the entrance. I looked like a baby deer learning how to walk. I loved make-up and looking nice, but Cassie took dressing up to a whole new level. I found myself adorned in a maroon lace dress that fell to below my thighs and revealed more cleavage than I would've liked. Silver and purple blended eyeshadow dusted my eyelids and a light pink lipstick gave all the attention to my smoky eyes. I felt like my face had been cut open, caked in bronzer and sewn back up again. Why put in so much effort? Well it all goes back to Cory's ridiculous plan, that was bound to land us all in a jail cell. I had to distract the receptionist and play the seductress. Whilst Cassie and Cory snuck through the back door to where they held the prisoners to break Tyler out of the police station.
