When Chanyeol got home thirty minutes later the house was unusually quiet. He frowned as he walked through the living room and headed upstairs, thinking maybe they were in the bedroom. When he went into the bedroom it was empty; it was quiet.

"Where are they?" Chanyeol quietly wondered. He frowned as he reached into his back pocket for his phone only to notice it wasn't there but resting on his bedside table. He picked it up and noticed he had one missed call from Baekhyun and a voicemail from Sehun.

He tapped Baekhyun's name to call him but it wouldn't go through, by this point he was nearly frantic with worry. He tried calling Baekhyun again as he hurried downstairs and checked the fridge for notes saying where they went. His eyes scanned the fridge quickly when he spotted one that read:

Chanyeol,

Luhan and I had to pick up Baekhyun and Taehyung, and take them to the hospital. So hurry. It's urgent.

Chanyeol's heart dropped into his stomach as he ran back outside and jumped into his car, driving as quickly as he dared to the hospital. When he pulled into the hospital parking lot he chose the first empty space he saw and cut the ignition before clumsy climbing out. He locked the car before sprinting towards the automatic doors and zipping inside.

He was about to walk up to the receptionist and demand answers when a frantic voice filled his ears and nearly had him crying with regret.

Taehyung barreled into Chanyeol's arms as he cried, "Daddy!"

Chanyeol had to choke back his emotion before he could ask, "Are you okay, Tae?"

Taehyung's hands held tighly together around Chanyeol's neck as he buried his face in his shoulder and said in a muffled voice, "I'm scared."

Chanyeol gently rubbed his back and soothed him as he softly replied, "It's okay, baby. I'm here. It's okay." Chanyeol continued to rub Taehyung's back and began to approach Sehun and Luhan when he spotted them watching.

He sat down beside Sehun and stroked the back of Taehyung's head as he quietly asked, "What happened? Is Baekhyun okay?"

"The doctor is still running tests," Luhan said.

"But the nurse had just came by to tell us he should have answers soon," Sehun said.

Chanyeol exhaled with some relief, calmer knowing Baekhyun was alive but still a complete wreck not having a solid answer for what was wrong. An then he realized they never answered his question of 'What happened?'.

Chanyeol glanced at them questioningly and muttered, "You never told me why Baek's here....?"

Luhan sighed and glanced at Sehun pointedly before he stood up and gently touched Taehyung's shoulder. Taehyung lifted his face out of Chanyeol's shoulder as Luhan asked, "Hey, Tae! Are you getting hungry?"

Taehyung bit his bottom lip and shook his head before hiding his face in Chanyeol's shoulder again. Luhan sighed and looked at Sehun. He sighed too before muttering, "Chanyeol, I can't say anything with . . ." Sehun gestured to Taehyung, and Chanyeol sighed with a nod.

"Okay," he muttered. He took a deep breath before gently pulling Taehyung back, who's bottom lip instantly started to wobble as if he knew what Chanyeol was about to say.

He shook his head and wrapped his arms around Chanyeol's neck again as he murmured, "Please, daddy. I want to stay with you."

Chanyeol's heart broke and he rubbed Taehyung's back as he softly replied, "Please, Tae. I have to talk to Uncle Sehun about mommy. So please, go with Uncle Luhan and he has permission to buy you anything you want. Okay?"

"But I want you and mommy," Taehyung said.

Chanyeol sighed and quietly whispered, "Oh baby, you really aren't making this easy . . ." Chanyeol sighed again. "Taehyung. I want you to go with Uncle Luhan, we won't be apart for long. I promise," Chanyeol said as he unwound Taehyung's small arms from around his neck.

Taehyung's bottom lip instantly began to wobble at the separation and Chanyeol had to fight back the urge to never let him go as he sternly said, "Taehyung, I mean it. Go with Uncle Luhan."

Taehyung bit his bottom lip and tears fell down his cheeks as he climbed off Chanyeol's lap and tightly seized Luhan's hand when he held it out. When they disappeared around a corner Chanyeol exhaled a shaky breath and rubbed his face.

"Holy shit, I hope I never have to do that to him again . . ." Chanyeol muttered. "I feel horrible. I know how much he hates hospitals and for me to insist he leave with Luhan is . . ." Chanyeol laughed humorlessly and shook his head. "Fuck."

Sehun watched Chanyeol with pursed lips and took a deep breath before saying, "Don't worry, he'll forgive you. Now Chanyeol, the reason Taehyung couldn't hear what happened to Baekhyun is because he . . ." Sehun trailed off and had to take a deep breath before continuing, "He couldn't know because Baekhyun started to" —- Sehun inhaled shakily before he blurted —- "Baekhyun started to bleed."

Chanyeol's eyes widened and his heart dropped once again, he started to choke because he couldn't breathe and had to lean forward. He covered his face with his hands and inhaled shakily before hoarsely asking, "Is he . . . What does that even mean . . .?"

Sehun scooted closer and soothingly rubbed his back as he muttered, "Luhan looked it up and it can be caused by stess, getting overly emotional; like upset, or . . ." Sehun trailed off and took a deep breath before whispering, "Or it could mean he's lost the baby . . ."

Chanyeol started to cry. He was beyond upset as his body was overflowing with both grief and hatred towards himself for leaving and fighting with Baekhyun; which for all he knew could have caused Baekhyun to be in the hospital. And he would never forgive himself if Baekhyun lost the baby.
