Emma's POV
I got in my car and sped away. Getting home I ran to my room slamming the front door on my way. I just sat on my bed and turned on my speaker to my playlist. The first that came on I swayed along to it. The first song to be played with "After the heartbreak" by
After the song I felt strong arms hug me. I look up with teary eyes to meet my brothers deep blue eyes. I layed my head on his shoulder and cried. I haven't cried on this matter in over a year. It feels good to let out all of the emotions that I have left bottled up.
After a good 10 minutes of crying, I tell him what happened. Over the 2 years, we became close. Since day 1, when I bumped into him. I told him everything. As if he was my brother. He is just like it, an overprotective doof of a brother.
"I was okay all up until he said that name. I couldn't bare with it. I have stayed strong for two years. I can stay strong for one more." I say with determination etched in my words.
"Okay. But if he or anyone else does something to you just give me an address" he says in a protective way. To that, I chuckle.
The poor person on the other side of the fist will surely be afraid. Jack is a sports guy, not only the kind the sits on the couch watching but the quarterback. Well not right now but once he enters college. Every weekend we go to the gym in the morning and Lexi goes to a friend's house. She joins us in the morning for a run though.
I check the time and wash my face. By this time Jackson went back to the kitchen to do God knows what.
I go back to my car and head to Alexandra's school. I park my car and move through the crowds of people. Once I find her I see she's talking to a girl. I get closer and see who it is.
They both turn around when I'm close to them and the little girl says,
"Emmy" my heart drops at the nickname. But I keep my composure straight. I smile at the little girl.
"Hey, Sammy. How are you?" I ask.
"Good I missed you." She replies and hugs me. I return the hug. I might not be on good terms with her brother but she has nothing to do with it.
"Me too," I reply. I look over at Lexi to see her looking behind me. I move from the embrace and see Ryan. I turn again and take Alexandra's hand. "Well, we gotta go before J burns down the house. Bye Sammy"
I walk away not even looking back. I feel a squeeze on my hand and look down to Lexi. I smile at her, and we drive away.
#afternoon#
I was in the living room when I smelled a delicious aroma. I went into the kitchen and saw a mouth-watering masterpiece. Lasagna. Cue the fireworks. I took a picture of it and posted it on Snapchat. 😍Lunch😍 Lexi and J came into the kitchen with grins on there faces.
"We saw that you were sad and made you something to be happy" they said in a creepy
unison.
"Oookaaaay... Anyway thank you and let's dig in." We washed our hands and grabbed our plates.
After lunch and everyone finished there chores and homework we sat on the couch ready to watch a movie.
"DING"
"I got it" I say and jump over the couch and answer the door. I open the door then close it again. Then there was a knock. I open the door this time and don't close it.
"Whose at the door Em's" Jackson calls from the living room.
"No one. Start the movie without me. I will be there in a little." I call out to the living room.
"Kay"
I walk out of the house to face 3 faces. "What" I growl. " If your not gonna say anything I have a comfy chair with fluffy blankets and a very good movie to watch. So bye" I turn around to go inside but Someone speaks.
"We have to talk," Ryan says. I turn around again and raise an eyebrow.
"I have nothing to say," I say in a monotone voice.
" Why did you leave?" Max asks.
"You know very well why I left. I also had other things going on, that is none of your business."
"What do you mean we know very well why you left" Ryan presses further.
"Nothing now can you guys leave," I ask calmly.
"No. Emma we were friends. Why did you leave?" Jake asks.
"Exactly we were friends, but I guess we were just not good enough friends," I say in a cold voice.
" What do you mean?" Ryan asks.
" Friendships are built on trust. Which is what we had. I thought of you as my best friend. But then she came along. I don't wanna sound like a bitch but she ruined my friendship with you guys. I wasn't and still, today am not jealous of her. Just upset that a person could get in the way of our friendship." I take a deep breath. "Just a simple lie she told was enough for me to see what good friends you guys are. One simple lie and you're all against me. I was there when you guys were going through hard times and were happy when you went through happy times. Like when you people got girlfriends I was happy. Until one of them made a lie. I was already alone since I barely got to see you guys but after you purposely ignored me I got tired. For my sophomore year, I moved with my family. But came back to where I had the happiest and saddest memories. To finish school and start college. Maybe to see what has happened here since I left. Seems everything's alright. Nothing has changed but people have, I know I have." I finish with my heart beating hard. I can literally feel an anxiety attack coming. All these memories I tried to suppress are coming back and they are very hard to live again. It is as if all these things just played in front of me like a movie.
"Em's what's going on," Jackson says from behind me. He takes a protective stance behind me.
"Nothing they were just leaving," I say. My head is pounding and my hands are sweaty. It's now getting harder to take breathes in. I guess they noticed because Jackson made me sit down on the porch.
"Emma breathe in and out don't think of anything else but breathing. " I close my eyes and then blackout.
