🌺Daegu - 7:00am🌺 - - - "Wake up." I hear a soft whisper in my ear. Warm breath seeps into my ear making me smile in my sleep. Tae kisses my forehead softly as we stand on the beach watching our familys car tolling away home away from the camp. "I'll never leave you." He smiles at me, his hair blowing gently in the peaceful wind. He grabs my shoulders amd shakes me strongly. "Come on!" "Wake up!" He tells my confused face.
I feel my body slowly coming back to reality and my eyes focus on the bland grey ceiling and Taes forehead as he shakes me awake. It was all a dream, I really did not want to wake up. "Tae." I grumble angrily as I sit up and rub sleep from my eyes. "We have to leave in an hour to get to the bus stop." "Oh yeah." I mumble as I slide off the bed and slip my slippers onto my feet. "Can you make breakfast?I want to shower before we go." I ask tiredly from the doorway. "Yep." Tae sighs as he puts on his dressing gown. "Don't burn anything!" I call from the shower room as I hear him pass the door. "I'll try!" He replies.
"For fuck sake." I curse under my breath realising Tae used all the shampoo. I sometimes wonder how married people cope. After growing up never having to share I'm not used to it.
I quickly get dressed into my pre picked outfif and Tae hands me my breakfast. I inspect it nervously. "Not bad!" I giggle. We sit at the table as we eat. "So, whats on the agenda for tommorrow then?" "Ill tell you later." I smile. He rolls his eyes impatiently. "Whats so bad about it?" "Nothing! I swear Tae." I dont think he believes me. - We walk to the bus stop hand in hand. Its half seven but theres still people out in the camp. The bus stop is outside the parking lot and the bus arrives seconds after us. I rest my sleepy head on Taes shoulder as we listen to his playlist on the bus. "This is terrible." I joke tiredly. "Shut up." The bus winds along the road as we dissolve further and further into the countryside. "We're here,wake up." I hear as I feel the bus pulling over.
The cold air swallows me as the ocean breeze hits us. We follow the crowd to the boat. Its pretty red and white exterior excites me. I feel like an innocent six year old again, Showing my mother a picture book of pirate ships not knowing her interest was fake.
"Everyone on board please!" The captain steps out from his cabin looking very unpolished. I grab Taes hand excitedly as I drag him to get on first. "Would you like your picture taken?" A young photographer asks with a bright smile on the deck. "Sure." Tae smiles. We hug eachother and smile with the sea and mountains glistening in the background.
"Beautiful!" She smiles as she checks the pictures. "Ok so these are included in the price of the tour and we will have printed by the time you all reach back here okay?" We nod and smile in understanding. She heads to the next person while we head off the find a seat. "This one...no this one!!...no!..yeah...no this one ! This one!" I laugh as I pick out a seat closest to the deck. "Are you sure about this seat?" Tae asks again. "Your most likely to get sick at the front." "Pfh I dont get sick on boats!" I bounce in my seat eagerly. "You've never been on a boat.." he laughs. "Well...ugh." I give up.
The crew talk us through the basic safety rules and talk us through what we will be seeing today filling me with excitement. The boat slowly pulls out of the beautiful blue watered dock and floats out to the open sea.
"Wait ! Wait I think I seen something! Tae, Tae look!" I keep my eyes on the sea from my seat and point out anything that moves to Tae. "Its a wave!" He answers everytime, sighing after the thousanth time.
"Ok, we see some whales out front!" The speakers crackle. I leap out of my seat so quick the woman opposite us curses at me .
"Tae hurry!" I shout at him from the deck as swarms of peoole rush to catch a glimpse of the whales. Tae arrives at my side tiredly, the almost an hour long ride must be catching onto him now. He stands on my right hand side with one arm behind my back holding onto the bar on my left hand side protectively as the boat rides the waves.
I squint my eyes in the blaring sun and shield them with my hands , scanning the sea not missing one wave.
Tae's cool fingettips press my cheek as he turns my head gently to the left where I see the sleek black fin of a whale poking out from the blue waves.
I glasp my hands to my mouth and laugh in disbelief at the sight. A killer whale - from my knowledge, pokes its white and black head out of the waves and blows air and water into the cool breeze .
"Oh my god." I whisper as tears brim in my eyes. "Oh my god-Its real, I-is it real?" I sob and wipe my wet eyes and nose on Taes arm which is draped across my shoulders.
"Yeah." He smiles and laughs gently into my ear. "Yeah its real." I smile as he kisses my ear gently. I rest my cheek on his arm and adore the beautiful whale as it briefly emerged again before it dissolves from sight.
I managed to get a blurry enough picture of it but it still makes me smile. Tae takes some pictures of me on the deck and my smile is so genuine We pick a couple who looks trustworthh and ask them if they could take some pictures of us. We reinact the famous titanic pose but can't stop laughing.
I wrap my hands around Taes shoulders and kiss him against the sun set as the camera clicks.
"Thank you so much." I smile at the beautiful couple that took our photos.
They announce over the intercom that they will be heading back to land shortly and although I'm partly upset over only seeing one whale ,my sea sickness has well caught up with me and I'm taking up three seats as I lie with my head on my boyfriends lap trying to sleep it off as he strokes my head gently.
