FINALLY CHARLIES POV. It's so hard to write in his pov .
"Charlie?" Meryl yawns laying on my lap. I stroke her hair. "What Mer?" I say in a sleepy voice siting agains the headboard of her bed. "When I first met you I thought I was going to hate you." Meryl states calmly. "But I have realized, you're the best friend I could ever have." Her breathing evens out indicating she's fallen asleep. I put her head on the pillow and cover her. I sneak down stairs to talk to Cheryl.
"Cheryl?" I ask in a child like tone.
"Yes, Charlie?" She replies.
"I'm worried about the olympics and stars on ice. What if I drop Meryl?" I say looking at Cheryl who hands me hot chocolate.
"Charlie, don't worry. You haven't dropped her yet, you haven't even hurt her. She trusts you and so do I. Charlie, you've been doing this for years with Tessa. It's fine. " she says smiling.
"I am just nervous I suppose." Listen charlie what's making you feel this way?"
"She's light. It's different. " I voice my concerns.
"Charlie, she may be light but you can do it. We will be waiting at the boards for you with water, skating guards and anything else you guys need." Cheryl reassures me.
"Thank you, Cheryl."
She hugs me tightly. "Just call me mom. Jacqui and I will be The Moms." I smile when she says that. "Off to bed, Charlie. " I listen to her and head up to bed.
When I wake up in the morning I go to check on Meryl. She's still sound asleep. "Charlie, will you wake her up breakfast is ready." Cheryl says from the kitchen. I pick Meryl up and carry her down the stairs, when I set her down she finally wakes up and looks around. "Charlie, you could have just woken me up you realize this right? " Meryl tells me smiling.
"Practice makes perfect. " I joke around. "Come on let's eat." We both eat and chat about how everything will go down in practice today. When we finish we all head straight to the rink.
We lace our skates and grab hands. Cheryl turns on our music and we begin to skate.
"You realize we are gonna have to do this in front of millions of people." Meryl says to me as we go into our first lift. "Yes, and soon we leave for Sochi." I reply setting her down. We continue our program. When we go to twizzle my skates slip off of under me and Meryl and I fall to the ground her on top of me. We both begin laughing and we smile at each other. We get up an begin the program once more. This time it's a clean program. I am so relieved all of the lift went well. "When do we leave?" Meryl asked her mom.
