Bewitched was a TV show from 1964 to 1972. It was originally in Black and White but then went into Color. Samantha is a housewife who is a witch and married a mortal name Darrin Stephens. We get to meet her family that are filled with witches and Warlocks and her family Dr. Dr. Bamba. We also get to meet Darrin's mortal parents. When Samantha told Darrin that she is a witch on their honeymoon and prove it to him by moving things around he accepted her but want her not to use her powers. They later had a daughter Tabitha and then a son. Samantha play by Elizabeth Montgomery and Darrin in the first few seasons was played by Dick York and then later played by Dick Sargent. Personally I prefer Dick York and thought that Dick Sargent was ugly. Only think I like about Dick Sargent was what I read about him being gay.
In season 7 the Bewitched cast went to Salem for a few episodes and that is why we have the Samantha stature. When we first gotten that stature it was a huge controversy. Every year when I am in Salem my mom would take me to the Samantha statue to take my picture in front of it. She loves Bewitched. A lot of people come here just to see that stature and I do suggest if you are ever here you should come and see that stature. It's actually at a perfect part of town. In between the flying saucer where on that side is Hex and on the other side all those witchy stores.
Also while you are in Salem you should also go to Gloucester to see the Fisherman statue. The only connection it has with Bewitched was one episode Darrin turned into the fisherman stature by Serena, Samantha's twin cousin who likes to cause mischief to Darrin. It's funny that the Samantha statue is in Salem and the Fisherman statue/Darrin is in Gloucester but still both statues are worth it to go to.
I also recommend you watch the series if you haven't yet. You can also watched the movie but I'll tell you the series is better. There was also a short lived series that only lasted a season call Tabitha which is of course about Samantha and Darrin's children. It's an okay series but the thing is they play different people since the kids were still kids and they made the brother order which makes no sense since he was born at the end of the series. Also in Tabitha, Tabitha is a witch but her brother is a mortal which again makes no sense because on the original show they both had powers.
