Salem state's mascot is the Vikings. I have always love the Vikings ever since my mom told me the true history on who were the first people that discovered this country. It was the Vikings for those who are idiots and still believe it was Christopher Jerkface Columbus. As you can see I don't like him at all. Sometimes since my birthday is October 12 it falls on a Monday and I hate that because that is Columbus day. That's the only time when I don't like my birthday. I just recently found out that I am 8% Scandinavian. I was so excited when I found out, I didn't know before. Unfortunately with Ancestry DNA I don't know which Scandinavian country the Scandinavian came from and that is why now I want to get 23 and me since that DNA test will have more details into my background. But with the Scandinavian in mind made me to think of the Vikings since they were Scandinavian. My dad would probably be the one with the Scandinavian because we know nothing about that side of the family and we know that his family before coming to Main, originally came from Canada. We also know that the Vikings discovered Canada and America so maybe they stayed behind and mixed in with the people there. So because of this theory, if it is proven true then I think it was destiny that I go to Salem State since there mascot is the Viking. I know you would assume it would be the witch but that is the mascot of the High School. I hope I will find out if I am a decendent of the Vikings. I will be so excited. Also because of all of that for Halloween I want to be a Viking.
