Chapter 32

JULY 26TH
(this must be torture ha sorry)

Shai's Pov

Today Theo and I are going to San Diego Comic Con to sign posters. As the driver is driving us there, I think back to that day in May.

*Flashback*

"Please leave a message for..." The answer machine says. Oh, so now he doesn't pick up. When the beep sounds, I take in a deep breath,

"Theo, I don't know where to begin. What you wrote was beautiful. And 'A Tell-Tale Heart'? That's so negative and dark. Anyways, about what I said in my sleep... You are horribly mistaken.

I wasn't sleeping. Though I thought you were, so I said those words, meaning every single one. And I'll say it again, I love you.

I'll see you next week. Bye."

*End of Flashback*

"Shai? Shailene?" Theo is waving his hand in front of my face. "What are you daydreaming about now?"

"Us."

"Us?"

"Yes us, did you not hear me? You're getting old, old man." I tease, resting my head on his right shoulder.

"So? I look pretty good for an old man huh?" He laughs, purposely making his biceps enlarge.

"Yeah too good. Everyone wants a piece of you." I pout.

"Sucks for them, because I'm all yours, Shai." Theo kisses my forehead. The car slows, soon coming to a stop, and we get out to rush inside.

While we're signing posters, Theo's phone vibrates. He takes it out from his back pocket and swipes the screen.

"Shai, look." He beckons. On the screen shows a message from Ansel,

* you guys are blowing up twitter rn it's insane * It reads. Oh lord, have we been too touchy?

I grab the phone from Theo's hand and type:

* wouldn't be surprised, sheo is pretty popular huh ~shai *

* it's crazy. and I saw this gif where theo slapped you in the ass so y'all better watch out *

"Theo!" I whisper yell. "They noticed when you slapped my butt!"

"Oops, oh well."

Finally, when we've signed all the posters, we get home and I grab an apple from the pantry.

"Shailene Woodley!" Theo calls from our hotel living room.

"What?"

"Come over here!" Theo groans. I walk over to him and sit on his lap. He's looking straight at me, and so am I.

"I'm so happy this is happening." He murmurs, kissing my nose, then cheek, then the edge of my lips.

I push my head forward and finally our lips meet.
