Starring: Pin, Jasper, Aspen, Tobuscus, Willow, and Sophie
-Pin's POV-
It's one of those days! Y'know? The kind when you can't think of a single bad thing? I don't know. I'm just really energetic and happy! I can't possibly keep this all to myself! I've got to share!
*swing!*
Pin swung open his front door.
"Good morning, Animalia!" He yelled.
*plap!*
"Woah!"
A poster flew into Pin's face.
He took it from his face and read the poster.
"Have you seen it?" Pin read aloud.
It was a drawing of a scaly creature in a trench coat.
"Well, that's strange. I've never seen an animal quite like this one."
He kept reading to see that it displayed Tobuscus' phone number on the poster. It said above the number, "call if found".
"Tobuscus? I wonder why he wants to find this thing? I think I'll ask him."
Pin grabbed his detective hat and coat from the clothes rack and headed towards Tobuscus' house.
15 Minutes Later~
*knock knock*
Is he home?
*knock knock knock*
He knocked again. Still, no answer.
"He might be out looking... hm... I'll go ask Jasper is he's seen him."
Pin headed towards Jasper's house.
15 More Minutes Later~
*knock knock*
*creak...*
Jasper's mom answered the door.
"Hey, Pin. What can I help you with?" She greeted.
"Hey, Mrs......Uh..."
"Lee," She assisted.
"Yes! Mrs. Lee, can I talk to Jasper for a second?" He asked.
Dang, I never realized I didn't know their last name... come to think of it.... I don't even know the last names of my other friends!
"Yeah, hold on. Jasper, Pin's at the door!"
*thud thud thud!*
Pin heard many thuds going down their wooden staircase.
"Uncle Popcorn!" Jasper greeted, rushing to hug him.
Pin noticed Aspen behind him.
"Hey, guys!" Pin greeted.
"What are you doing here? There's not a mystery, is there?" Jasper asked.
"Well, I don't know exactly. I came to ask if you've seen Tobuscus," he explained.
"Oh! Yeah, he, Willow, and Sophie are setting up posters all over town of a scary monster! Aspen and I would have helped, but that monster looks too scary to look for. We're playing action figures instead! Wanna play?!"
I thought Willow and Sophie left for the airport....wait a second?! Why were they here in the first place? Something doesn't feel right...
"Sorry, Jasper. Can't now. Could you tell me where you saw them last?"
"Yeah! Harry Hippos house!" Jasper replied, excited to help with Pin's quest.
"Thanks! I play some other time!"
They waved bye as Pin ran to Harry Hippos' house down by the Animalia River.
20 Minutes Later~
*knock knock knock*
*creak...*
"Oh! What's up, Detective?" Harry asked.
"Was Tobuscus and two other cats here earlier?" He asked.
"Yeah! You just missed them, dude!"
Dang, it! This is taking more effort than I thought! Heh heh.
"Did you see where they went?"
"Yup! They went to Michael Otter's!" He announced.
"Thanks a ton, Harry!"
"Don't sweat it, Detective!"
Pin smiled and rushed to Michael Otter's house.
10 Minutes Later~
Pin saw Tobuscus, Willow, and Sophie walking and talking to each other as they were arriving at Michael's.
"Tobuscus!" Pin called.
The three of them looked behind them to see Pin running up to them.
"Hey, Pin," Tobuscus greeted.
"Hey, I've been looking all over for you," Pin explained, out of breath.
"Oh, sorry 'bout that. Why were you looking for me?"
Pin pulled a poster from his coat.
"This, quite literally, found me today. It says your name on it, and I was wondering what it was all about," Pin explained, straightening the colorful poster.
"Oh...." Tobuscus said awkwardly.
Tobuscus, Willow, and Sophie exchanged looks.
"What?" Pin asked.
"Uh... friend of mine. Yeah, heard he was in town. Wanted to see him," Tobuscus lied.
"So you made posters?"
"Well, I haven't seen him in like...."
"Mhm," Pin said.
"Decades..."
Sophie snorted.
Willow bumped her.
They're hiding something.... I know it! But why from me?
"Wanna help?" Sophie asked.
Willow bumped her again.
By the look of Tobuscus and Willow's face of "why would you ask that?" And Sophie's face of regret showed they did not want me to meet this guy. That's it! I'm in!
"Sure, Sophie! Thanks for the invite," Pin decided, "what are we doing first?"
Tobuscus tried to hold back a sigh, and announced,
"We were about to ask Michael Otter if he has seen my friend," Tobusucus announced.
"Great! Let's do it!"
