Walking into the milkshake bar, you spot Lucy at your usual corner booth, sipping a vanilla shake through a red and white stripy straw.

The booths had space for at least 4 people but the two of you liked to spread out as you gossiped and shared stories of your week.

After hugging her and teasing her with her basic taste in milkshakes, "classic" in her words, you walk to the counter and order the exact same thing to wind her up even more.

It works like a charm as she pouts and then sticks her tongue out at you as you return to the table.

"You're right, sometimes the classics are the best." You say with a shrug and a giggle.

"See, I'm always right. Speaking of which, how is Kino? What's the progress you wanted to tell me?" She asks before taking another sip of her milkshake.

You take along gulp of your drink, drawing it out while you compile the events of the last few weeks into a nice neat list.

"So, what we know so far," You start. "His name is Kang Hyunggu but he likes to be called Kino, he's 20 and he's at Sejong University studying Dance. He was super rude when we first met but he did save me from that dude at the store and apologised for being a jerk afterwards. He has a younger sister and his mum goes overseas a lot. He's a bit of a dork and comes on way too strong. And," You pause for dramatic effect, "He drunk called me the other night after asking me out on another date via text."

"No way!" Lucy replies, covering her mouth with her hand and laughing.

"Oh, and that's not all. He lost his phone, so we didn't even end up going on a date that weekend. He called me using his friend's phone to apologise." You say with a chuckle. It's almost too ridiculous to be true.

"Wow, way to make a good impression dude." Lucy snorts. "Although that does mean he knows your number off by heart. I can't tell if that's romantic or creepy... So, did you rearrange your next date?"

"No, sadly not. Like I have no time right now I really have so many other things to be concentrating on..." Your sentence drifts off as you stare out the window at a boy with shocking platinum coloured hair.

"Hello, you there? Have we lost you to the window gods?" Lucy says as she waves a hand in front of you face, before turning to see what you're looking at. "Wow they actually are gods."

"I-I'm not sure but I think that's Kino, he must've changed his hair colour. I don't know the other guy." You whisper, transfixed.

You suddenly realise how dumb you look, gawking at him and his friend. So you quickly turn your head and go back to sipping your shake.

"What should we do? Do you want to go say hi? What should I do!? Do you want me to hide so you can get your flirt on? His friend's kinda cute tho. I mean they probably won't come in here right?" She asks, just as they enter the shop.

If you had a pillow to throw at her it would already have hit her face by now.

"Can you actually stop with all the questions Luce? Just act casual, we're in a corner anyway, they might not see us." You hiss through your teeth.

Grabbing a menu you try and cover your face as much as possible, pretending to look engrossed by the 5 different flavours of ice cream you can have on top of your shake.

Poking your head over your menu you see Kino and his friend joking and laughing at the counter as they wait for their drinks to be made.

Kino has his back to you but from the look of the other guys face he must be pouting as the older guy seems to be apologising.

You strain to hear what they're saying. Luckily the shop is kind of quiet today, so you can just make out part of a sentence.

"Awh come on Kino You know I didn't mean it like that. It's good to be sensitive anyway! It means you're in touch with your emotions." The older boy says, patting Kino's shoulder.

As if feeling the weight of your eyes, the man looks over Kino's shoulder and straight at you.

You feel like you jump a metre in the air.

The older guy now whispers something to Kino and the world slows down.

He turns around and looks around the shop nonchalantly. Then his gaze lands on you.

He cracks the widest smile you've seen and immediately walks over to you, followed by his friend at a much slower pace.

"How nice of you girls to save a table for us! I've never been on a double date before, this should be fun!"
