"So, are you going to text him?" Lucy asks, looking up from her laptop.

"I don't know, what would I even say?" You reply, staring at your phone as you sit on the sofa.

It had been 2 days since your impromptu coffee shop meet with Kino and you had decided to wait a little while before contacting him.

You knew you wanted to contact him but you weren't sure of what type of person he was. Ironically that would only be learned through getting to know him better.

He could be sweet and thoughtful and you loved watching him talk about his passion for dance.

At the same time, he could be rude and crass and insensitive.

He was only human, you knew that. However, that did not mean you were so willing to forgive and forget, you had learned that lesson the hard way.

"I'm sure there's some garbage rule about waiting 3 days to text someone, to make sure you don't look desperate." You mumble.

"But like you just said, that's garbage." Lucy responds with a chuckle, sitting on the floor with her back against the sofa.

"I know I know but you don't know Kino. He makes me want to whack him over the head for being so rude then kiss where I whacked him because he can be so sweet." You sigh, frustrated at the situation.

"You had better clarify which head you're kissing missy." Lucy says with a wink.

You promptly throw a pillow from the sofa down at her.

Rubbing her head, she continues.

"Joking aside, he sounds like fun. Just text him already!" She teases.

You scowl at her as she goes back to her computer, filling out a quiz to see what flavour of ice cream she is.

You start typing a message to him.

Hey

(Message erased)

Why did you give me your email address weirdo? :p

(Message erased)

What dances are you learning these days?

(Message erased)

You sigh. You had no idea what to say.

Lucy notices your unrest and snatches your phone out of your hands, typing so fast you can't even see her thumbs.

"HEY! Don't you dare do what I think you're going to do!" You shriek, jumping on top of her, grabbing at your phone

"Too late...all done aaand sent!" she replies, squealing and grinning like a Cheshire cat.

You make a sound not dissimilar to that of a dying animal and finally succeed in retrieving your phone, staring at the screen, mouth agape.

"Close that before a fly finds its way inside." Lucy says, snickering.

You continue to gawp at your screen, dreading his response.

There in glowing letters were the words that would be carved on your tombstone.

Hey handsome, you've been on my mind
Fancy grabbing a drink sometime? ;) <3

You throw a pillow at Lucy, which is becoming a more frequent occurrence these days.

You scream on the inside but before you could even think your phone pings.

You make eye contact with Lucy and both of you leap to grab your phone.

She makes it a microsecond before you do and manages to open the message with you on her back, arms flailing as you try to retrieve your phone.

"Oooo girlie you are in for a treat." She teases, winding you up.

With a final effort you grasp your phone and fall off her back.

If the first message didn't seal your fate this reply definitely did.

It's good to keep some suspense ;) <3

As your cheeks burn you throw the remaining pillow from the sofa at Lucy.

Catching it, she laughs. "So, where are you going to meet him?"
