- Chapter 1
Ree was walking down at the wet pathway in the streets of London. Out of the silence, she heard a voice whispering her name as the the breeze brushes her hair gently away from her ears. Ree turned and realised that the voice that had been whispered to her gently sound familiar - it was her mother's voicethat had been whispering out her name. Ree look down at the wet rocks of the pathway, the dim lights are reflecting at the small puddles that are reflecting back as if the puddle had lit up on its own...
As she stare at the empty pathway behind her, she suddenly remembered a memory when her mother was brutally killed in a house where she had been born and raised. It was a horrible scene... and a painful memory that had been engraved in her mind ever since then. That was in the year of 1863 when Ree was just 5 years old. Her childhood could have been normal until...
'Ree! Why are you staring at the ground?' shouted a young boy wearing a black coat, enlightening his voice. Ree startled as Willy called her, she turn and walk slowly towards him while she study her surroundings for a few moments. Ree lift up her head a little and look at Willy - the boy wearing the black coat.
'I was just thinking the glimpse of the past, i would say it was rather ...mull,' answered Ree. Willy said nothing but he gave her a smile as Ree continue to walk ahead of him.
The lights along the pathway became dimmer. Though the moon that night was shining bright, there were grey clouds above the dark sky. The breeze at that night was quite alright...
They walk past an old antique shop. Ree's eyes was locked on to a doll, she placed both of her hands on the window display while looking at the doll - an old doll that seem dusty and ...scary. 'Ree, we must hurry and make our way to meet the others at the Refseth's mansion. They all must have waited for us for quite some time,' console Willy.
Ree gave a heavy sigh, she let go of her hands from the window display and gave Willy a gloomy face. Ree quickly turn and walk ahead leaving Willy behind.
