"So how about this one?" The realtor asked once he finished showing us the fourth house of the day. "I really like how it has three bedrooms and a pool" I spoke up and looked over at Alex "it's the best one so far" he agreed and the realtor smiled finally getting closer to what we wanted. "I think you'll like the next house even more. It has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms, plus it has a big yard including a pool, like you requested" he smiled and I had a feeling he was forgetting to mention something "I feel like there's a but coming" Alex said as if he just read my mind "yes well, it's actually in Maryland. But it's only about a 45 minute drive to the ballpark. So it's not too far" he told us "you do realize that 45 minutes will easily turn into over an hour on game day. Plus my fiancé works in DC too. I don't think it'll work out" Alex said. He called me his fiancé. I smiled as I reached over and interlocked our fingers. He looked over at me "I say we just go see what it looks like. Then we can decide on it" I said and Alex eventually caved.

The car ride took about half an hour to get to the house but as soon as we pulled up I smiled. "I love it already" I announced as Alex turned the car off. "Let's just see what it looks like inside before we decide on anything" he laughed, throwing my own words back at me. I ignored him as I climbed out of the car and made my way towards the house. It was spectacular. The outside of the house was red brick and it looked stunning against the green grass and the trees. Once I got inside I couldn't control my smile. I left Alex and the realtor and explored on my own. The kitchen was a nice size and it had a connecting dining room. The family room was pretty big and it had glass doors that opened up and revealed the backyard, which had a pool and enough room for Alex to play catch with some of his teammates. I climbed the stairs and wandered around the second floor and every room had its own atmosphere. The master room was massive and it had a closet big enough for both mine and Alex's clothes. I was in love. "There you are" Alex said as he walked into the room behind me. "What do you think?" I asked him so I could gauge his reaction "it's perfect. It has everything we wanted" he smiled as he walked closer to me. "But it's so far away from work, for both of us" he sighed "I'll settle with the traffic for this house" I replied and he smiled and kissed me softly "you want it too?" He asked and I nodded.

We let the realtor know we wanted to buy the house and he started the paperwork almost immediately. It took a few hours to get everything done, but by the end of the day Alex bought the house and I couldn't be more excited.

As we drove back to Alex's house he rested his hand on my thigh "it's really happening isn't it? We're officially starting our life together" he smiled as he glanced over at me then he looked down at my belly, which grew a little bit more. I had a small bump already. "You called me you're fiancé" I smiled as I rubbed his fingers "well you did agree to that you know" he smirked "I know, but it made me get butterflies and feel all mushy when you said it" I laughed and he smiled the biggest smile I've ever seen "well then I should say it more often shouldn't I?" He asked smiling. I leaned over and kissed his cheek softly "oh hey, when we get home you should pack a bag." He told me "why?" I asked "because I want to take you somewhere for the weekend" he replied and I nodded and held his hand.

As soon as we got home I rushed into the bedroom and started throwing stuff into my duffel bag. I didn't know what to pack, so I just packed a little bit of everything. "You're already done?" Alex asked as he walked into the bedroom "well kind of" I laughed as he grabbed a bag and started putting some clothes in it. "So where are we going?" I asked as I walked up behind him and hugged his waist. "If I told you, it wouldn't be a surprise now would it" he replied and I sighed and sat on the bed. "Do you know when the house will be ready?" I asked as I watched his back muscles tighten as he reached the top shelf in the closet. "It should be ready by the time we get back." He told me as he grabbed a few more things and shoved them into his bag. "Ready?" He asked as he turned around and I nodded.

Alex grabbed our bags and carried them to the car while I locked up the house. Once he had the bags in the car we took off on our weekend getaway.

"Get comfortable baby we're going to be in here for a little bit" he warned me as he pulled onto the highway. "I hate surprises, I just want to know where we're going" I whined but he wasn't giving in. "Trust me you'll love it" he smiled as he turned on the radio and I grabbed my pillow from the backseat and got comfortable.

I must've fallen asleep because when I woke up Alex was grabbing our bags out of the car. The sun already set so I couldn't exactly tell where we were. I just saw that we were in the woods. "Is this the part where you kill me?" I joked "you'll just have to wait and find out" he laughed as he shut the trunk and came around and opened my door. "Baby will you grab the food?" He asked motioning towards the bags of McDonald's. I smiled and grabbed the food and got out of the car. I followed after Alex for what seemed like forever until we arrived at the lake.

The same lake Alex brought me to when we were in college. "Alex" I said shocked "surprise" he smiled and placed our bags in the tent which was next to a few lanterns. "What's all of this?" I asked as I walked around and took in the sight in front of me "I was feeling a little nostalgic and decided to bring us back here for the weekend" he said and I smiled "I love you" I told him as I climbed into the tent. I noticed it was already set up and had the air mattress blown up and everything. "How long did this take you?" I asked "about 20 minutes or so" he told me as we sat down and grabbed the laptop and turned on a movie "and you left me in the car alone?" I asked acting like I was upset "I made sure to lock the doors while I was gone" he replied "you locked me in the car?" I laughed "I had to keep you safe" he replied as he shoved some fries into his mouth. I smiled and focused on the movie.
