The next few weeks have went by extremely slow, probably since Alex has been traveling a lot for baseball and the hospital hasn't really been busy. Since I have the day off I decided to go to shopping. I've been meaning to buy a few more pregnancy outfits since I'm not sure how much longer I'll be able to get away with my yoga pants.
Once I reached the first store I parked the car and noticed the sky was getting darker. "I hope that rain will hold off a bit longer" a man walking down the sidewalk said. I decided to try to shop quickly so I wouldn't get stuck in the rain.
I walked around the store for a while and I had plenty in my shopping basket. A few pairs of pants, shirts, dresses, shorts, and I even bought new shoes since my feet have been getting more and more swollen. "Did you find everything ok?" The woman at the register asks "oh yes thank you" I reply as she's already scanning my items and putting them in bags. I glance out of the window and notice it's starting to rain, not too heavy but just enough to get the ground wet. "It'll be $79.26" the woman says bringing my attention back to her. I quickly swipe my card and grab my bags then make a run for it to my car.
During the drive home the rain got bad. To the point where my windshield wipers were going full speed and I still couldn't see in front of me. Suddenly my car came to a halt as a car tapped me from behind making my car slide into the one in front of me. Great. I check the time just as my phone starts ringing, Alex must be already done with practice. "Hey" I say as I notice the man behind me get out of his car "hi baby I'm on my way home but I'm stuck in traffic so it may be a little bit" he says as I hear a car honk through his phone "that's ok, i was on my way home too. But this asshole hit me from behind and now I have to get an accident report" I sigh as I grab an umbrella and get out of my car to exchange insurance information. "What the fuck where are you!" I hear Alex ask just as the man in the blue car behind me says "I've already called the cops, they're on their way". "Baby where are you? Are you hurt?" Alex frantically asks "no I'm fine I just have a headache" I tell him as the lady from the car in front gets out. "Has anyone called yet?" She asks "yea that man did" I tell her as I point to the guy standing to the side. "I'll call you back in a second ok? I'm on 395 waiting on the cops, I'm sure it'll take a while" i tell him as I hang up.
15 minutes later the cops show up with an ambulance and firetruck asking if anyone was hurt. We all said that we were fine, but when they noticed I'm pregnant they wanted me to get checked out just in case. I agreed and decided to text Alex on my way to the hospital inside of an ambulance.
